Re: anyone have the shark steam mop?
I have it and use it on wood floors so I'm not sure if there would be a difference on laminate or not.
I think it works well for what I want it for which is basically just a quick way to clean up the floors from all the footprint smudges and small spots, etc.
I find that I do need to sweep beforehand as it won't pick up crumbs, but it does a great, fast job. If you have something really sticky, you'll need to use something else to get that up. For the price, does a great job.
So far I've only used mine on ceramic tile. I like it a lot. I was previously using the wet swiffer, and I feel like this leaves the floors a lot cleaner and without that icky film (which the swiffer seemed to always leave behind).
As far as laminate flooring, I believe it says to just keep the mop from staying in constant contact with the floor. I would use it very quickly so as to not allow the steam to be able to penetrate into any cracks/seams.

We got the Shark 2 in 1 vacuum and steam mop combo last weekend and I absolutely LOVE it. Our house is tiled so I'm not sure how it would work on laminate, but I'm sure it'd work just fine.
If you have a Bed, Bath, and Beyond near you, find a coupon and use it! It'll save you some $!
Just used one at my mom's house and it seemed to do a really great job. I'm planning on buying one myself. Her floors were pretty neglected, but it still only took me maybe 20 minutes to do the living room, dining room, kitchen, hall, and bath.
The water reservoir seemed small, but the water lasted the whole house. The handle pumps up and down as you push and pull to push the steam out. I noticed that it gets steamier the more you pump, eventually reaching a peak and backing off a little to reheat. Once I got the rhythm I was good though.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over!
I have never posted on here before, but felt that I should mention this-- while I loved the Shark while it lasted, it stopped steaming almost exactly 1 year after I bought it. I now use a Swiffer with reusable cloth towels (from BB&B) with Bona wood floor cleaner. I miss my Shark, but wasn't willing to shell out for another one.
Mine did this too, such a bummer. It was great while it lasted. I probably won't be buying a new one anytime soon. I found a Starmop knockoff by Scotch Bright at Costco for 15 dollars. One month in, its still working great.
