Halloween Costumes?

So Halloween is coming up soon (yay!  LOOOOOVE Halloween!), and I was just curious as to what you ladies are planning on doing.  DH and I are going out with our group of friends as The Gang from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.  We're ordering the Flipadelphia shirts and going to do our hair and stuff like the characters.  We'll also be drinking "canned wine," or boxed wine that has been transfered to a Diet Coke can for easy non-spillage consumption, if you don't watch the show.  So what are you girls doing?

Re: Halloween Costumes?

  • Wow...I feel so lame!  I make costumes for a living, but I HATE dressing up for Halloween.  Ironic, right?  We'll probably just hang out at home and give out candy to trick or treaters.

Although I could be tempted to hit up a haunted house.

  • I will either be working or at home. We really don't do the whole Halloween scene. It'll be different when we have kids, but for now we're gonna sit this one out.

  • I love Halloween, but this year we will stay home and hand out candy.  DH will begin his radiation treatment soon and I am sure he will be too tired to go out.  Maybe I can get him to dress up anyways :)

  • Dh and I are going to 2 costume parties (one friday, one saturday).  This year we are going as "thing 1" and "thing 2" from cat in the hat.  Last year we went with his sister and brother in law and we all dressed up as oompa-loompas.  I made the costumes and people still talk about them!  I had never been a halloween person until a few years ago but now I love it!
  • My birthday is Nov. 1st, so celebrating my birthday has usually involved celebrating Halloween growing up. However, I'm not always inspired to dress up.

My two MOHs' birthdays are Sept./Oct. so we are doing a vineyard tour this Sunday and hoping to finally catch Rock of Ages on Broadway in a couple of weeks.

  • DH does not like dressing up, but this year he decided to compromise with me... I really wanted a couples costume, so we will be rock stars :) This costume is really cheap too, because other than the wigs, we have everything we need.
  • Not into Halloween parties and neither are our friends.  Our church does a chili supper and a trunk-or-treat for the children in the community, and I enjoy that.  But seriously, I mostly hate Halloween.  Even as a kid, I thought it was the most useless holiday.  And my family never handed out candy at home.

I'm more into celebrating Fall/Winter and Halloween mostly signifies that I can get excited because my favorite time of the year is coming up!

  • I LOVE Halloween!  This year I'm going to be in NJ for my cousin's bridal shower that weekend, so I will celebrate with college friends on Saturday night - one is hosting a party at her apartment in Hoboken.  I like dressing up and going out....for actual Halloween I will be traveling home and then DH and I will probably just stay in and hand out candy, we still have a ton leftover from the wedding.
