Poll: Favorite Fall Baked Good
The board is slow so I figured a poll couldn't hurt. I'm making pumpkin cupcakes for DH's birthday tomorrow. I call them muffins to make myself feel better about eating them since we like them sans frosting.
So, what is your favorite fall baked good (can be sweet or savory)? Extra points for linking the recipe.
Re: Poll: Favorite Fall Baked Good
Since I'm just starting to get into this whole baking thing myself, I don't have any recipes for these. BUT, my favorites are...
(1) Pumpkin scones
(2) Cranberry scones
(3) Pumpkin Pie
(4) French Apple Pie
Pumpkin Bars/Cake - I have a recipe at home that I will post if I remember.
Almost anything with Sweet Potatoes
My Bio (wedding pics added 7/6)
My 101
Pumpkin Bread - sorry, recipe is a modification of two or three others & is at home.
New favorite is this Zucchini Oatmeal Coffee Cake. So much better than zucchini bread (& I love my bread recipe). I used brown sugar in the topping in place of white & cut recipe in half & baked in 9x9 pan. (& used a little extra nutmeg than what recipe called for, because I like nutmeg.)

Pumpkin Roll - here's the recipe. I got it from a coworker many years ago & have no idea where she got it, so don't have anyone to credit it to, but I get rave reviews & recipe requests every time I make it.
**Pumpkin Roll**
1 c. sugar
3 eggs
2/3 c. pumpkin
1 tsp. baking soda
? tsp. cinnamon
? c. flour
Mix all ingredients with electric mixer. Spread onto waxed paper or parchment lined jelly roll pan. Bake for 15 minutes at 375 deg.
Invert hot cake onto sugar coated dish towel. Remove paper. Roll up cake in towel and allow to cool completely. When cooled unroll cake and fill with cream cheese filling (recipe below). Roll up cake/filling and wrap tightly with plastic wrap. Chill overnight. Cut into slices and serve. (You can roll the cake either on the long side or short side. One way will yield less slices that are wider with more spiral [my favorite] and the other will yield quite a few more slices that are a much smaller diameter.) I think it tastes best closer to room temp. than refrigerator temp.
**Filling**
2 tbsp. butter ? room temp.
8 oz. cream cheese ? room temp.
3/4 tsp. vanilla
1 c. powdered sugar
Beat all filling ingredients with electric mixer until light and fluffy.
Apple Crisp - wow my old blog pictures are really really bad. I have got to redo some of these...
Pumpkin Roll - I basically use the recipe on the back of the Libby's can
Caramel Apple Cheesecake Pie - made this last year for Thanksgiving and it was awesome but I didnt manage to get a picture so I didnt blog it.

Married
apple pie
pumpkin chocolate chip bread
pumpkin muffins with cream cheese frosting
and fried cakes we get at a local apple farm. They're basically fresh glazed fritters that go fantastically with apple cider
Three things come to mind when you say Fall Baked Goods
1) Apple Pie
2) Pumpkin Donuts (a specialty served at a Fall Festival back home with hot mulled cider)
3) Fried Dough with maple cream (same Fall Festival, different vendor)
