Im in the Lakeview area and looking for a reputable and affordable dog groomer. I have taken my dog to Petco, Petsmart, and Pet Emporium. Although none of them have been bad, I'm not overly impressed with any of them either. Any recommendations????
Re: Dog Grooming?
I'm on the Westbank and have two great groomers. I don't know if you would want to travel to the WB just to have your dog groomed but honestly these places are awesome. The first is Shampooch in Westwego. My dog has been going there since he was a few months old. I have a cocker spaniel so you can just imagine how many times he needs to be groomed! The only problem is that they book up very fast and weekends are impossible unless you book ahead of time. My schedule is pretty hectic so it is usually around Friday afternoon when I remember to make the appointment.
The other place is on Terry Parkway in Gretna/Terrytown and it's called Fancy Pups. I brought Boo there before Mardi Gras b/c Shampooch was booked solid and I actually called on a Saturday morning at 8am and the owner (can't remember his name) said that if the other groomer comes in he could take Boo (she was out sick). Well no more than 10 minutes later he called and said I could come on in. I was very happy that he was so accommodating.
Both places are similar in price. A cocker cut is $34 and it includes bath and dry, brush coat and teeth, anal glands drained, ears and eyes cleaned, deoderant spray and a bow for girls and scarf for boys.
Man, I went on and on. HTH!
