Weekend Updates

I have a feeling I might be the only person really posting on here and I can't post tonight on the other board; I'll be running and won't be home very long because we have to go to practice.

Anyone else feel free to add on here.  (And they have now blocked facebook at work, boo!)

We ended up finding a room Saturday night in Canada near Niagara Falls.  So Friday night we just relaxed at home, got up early Saturday morning, and drove directly to Niagara On the Lake.  It was beautiful!  The weather was perfect, it warmed up quite a bit, so I could wear a t-shirt but all the leaves on the trees were so pretty, with a lot of reds and oranges!  And the wine tasting was fun; I was overwhelmed by the number of wineries there.

We drove from there to Niagara Falls to check into our hotel and walked over the Rainbow Bridge to meet a high school friend at Hard Rock on the U.S. side.  And just wandered around Niagara Falls for awhile.

Sunday we got up pretty early again and met my cousin and friend from high school (same one we met Sat night for dinner) to tailgate and go to the Buffalo Bills game.  They lost but we had a lot of fun, and then drove back to Pittsburgh after the game.

I have to say, wow- Heinz Field should really take a cue from Ralph Wilson Stadium (where the Bills play) on how to handle security.  Every section has a little area in the back where security stands the entire game and watches the section from behind.  I didn't hear anything even remotely offensive (not that I usually do pay attention) and they kicked someone out of our section, from behind us.  I have no idea what he did but they did it pretty quickly and had a talking to, to a guy right behind us who booed them as they took the other fan out.  (We thought they kicked the 2nd guy out as well but he ended up back in the seat, very quiet for the rest of the game.  Again, not that he was even loud before that though.)

Re: Weekend Updates

  • I'm only here because I have the day off today.  Stupid work. :/

Anyway, sounds like you had a good weekend!  Niagara on the Lake sounds wonderful.

My weekend wasn't anything too interesting.  Saturday we helped SIL and her husband put some stuff together in their new house.  Then we went home and watched the football game.

Sunday we did errands and just spent some quiet time together.

Today I have a doctor's appointment and then I think we might go to the mall.

  • Saturday we did family photos in a local park - hopefully there will be one (or more) good photo of me - I don't like any photos of me since Katie was born.

Yesterday I played field hockey w/ my club team.  I am getting too old for that.  I'm sore today.  I took a tumble on the turf and scraped my knee.

Today I'm working.  Should be a quiet day though since a lot of offices are closed.
