Hi! I am new on this board...was married in June, live in the Hi Des...I lurk more than anything. Just making my presence known
Re: newbie
::waves::
Hello!
Welcome to the board and Congrats on your wedding!
...and I have to ask you...Is that a real kitty facing certain death in the arms of the vicious pittie?
Definitely feel free to jump in- we're a pretty cool group of gals (if I do say so myself
).
Soooo- tell us about you! What do you do? What do you like to do for entertainment?
ohhh me...I work, clean house..typical wifey stuff! (JK!) I have horses; they are my main source on entertainment. I compete (well, competed) in 3-Day Eventing with my TB Monroe. I haven't in a while because I have not been able to commit to riding and it is pricey to train, and more so to travel to the shows. Still, the horses are where my heart is and I will follow my dream some day!
I am saving up to take a course in Equine Sports Massage Therapy so I can quit my "day job" and do something I REALLY enjoy. Once I have my own business in this I will hopefully make enough money to continue my training instead of just scraping by like we have been... What about you ladies? This seems to be the friendliest board I have seen yet, most of them are catty and snarky..Must be a SoCal thing!
Duplicate post- my computer is possessed.
Oh we're a totally snarky board
J/k - most national boards are pretty snarky, it seems like the local boards have much less snark involved... IE gals rock
That is awesome that you want to go into Equine MT- I grew up riding and showing- I had an apaloosa named Stormy
I miss him much, but gave him to a 4-H kid when I went away to college.
I work for the CA Dept of Corrections- loads of fun
I'm also an office manager for a chiropractic office. I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up- and I'm 30. I got my BS in Sports Medicine, then I got my MBA, but that didn't take me anywhere I wanted to go either- so for now I'm just paying the bills until I can figure out what it is that I really want to do forever. I love baking- not sure if that can make $$ though, lol!
It is nice to have you here
Feel free to start topics anytime or jump into any discussion- we're a great bunch here- kind of small, but good
My first horse was an Appy-best horse EVER! She is now 23 and is my moms trail horse..She's awesome.
I play with the idea of going back to school to get a degree (I am like 3 classes away from my AA-they are all math classes which is reason enough for me not to go) but I really don't see anything that spikes my interest enough for me to commute. Lord knows there is nothing in the HD! I considered Equine Sports Medicine, but again, nothing in So Cal.
BTW MarriedInCali, I LOVE the Temecula area...MH works for SoCal Edison and I keep trying to get him to transfer to that area..But his allergies are too bad down there wahwahwah! The school I am going to for the ESMT is in Bonsall, and the show I frequent most is Galway Downs in Temecula! You're so lucky to live in such a pretty part of Cali!!
Is he a lineman?
I work for one of their subcontractors. In the office of course, doing claims.
He is a 2nd step lineman's apprentice...So 2 more years and he will be a lineman. THEN he talks about relocating- so I will have to stick it our
Which subcontractor do you work for?
Awesome! It's a great career. I work for ****.
ETA: I deleted my employers info.
Sorry I took so long to respond- busy week @ work, lol.
My Appy was the greatest! He was a cutter and we did gymkhana together- loved him to pieces
I love this area too- it is amazing- I grew up in Hemet, and swore I'd never come back this way (I went to Pepperdine and thought I'd stay in LA forever) but then I grew out of the whole hate-my-hometown thing, and moved to Menifee which is much more quiet and closer to the freeway than Hemet, but I love it - and its proximity to Temecula
You guys should move here- there are 5 houses on my block for sale - most under 200k- and we're a block away from the Junior college so you could finish your degree in a snap! My friend is the math professor there too- and he's great.
Wow thats sooo tempting. We just bought out first house in the HD in June...so unfortunately we are stuck for a while. Boo! I grew up in Fontana, then my parents moved my sister and I out to BFE..And I always swore I would move back to civilization. But I married a Desert boy and now I have to brain wash him.
I am completely in love with that area-my brothers live in Costa Mesa, which I also love. Maybe someday though-it's always good to have a dream!
My H and I considered the high desert- then realized the commute would kill me- mostly because of the road closures, snow in winter, etc...
Costa Mesa is definitely nice too- a great dream!
