OMG! I am SO exhausted!

Brooks' christening was yesterday, so he and I traveled to my hometown about 4 hours away, via train. When we arrived the platform was being worked on, so the conductor had to schlep my pram, which was in 2 pieces and my suitcase two cars ahead of where we were sitting.?

Saturday was non stop too, I picked up the u-haul and my dad drove it to my grandfather's. I went to the train station to pick up my best friend, who is also Brooks' god-father. The train was 45 minutes late! We grabbed a bite to eat then strolled around the down town area for a bit before heading 20 miles south to the church. Met with the priest as well as some parishoners, and went through the service, paperwork, etc. Then stayed for the pork BBQ fundraiser. I heard it was good, but EVERYTHING had pork in it and I'm allergic to pork. So I went hungry.

By this time my allergies had gone into full blown rebellion. My throat felt like needles, and my face felt like there was an old fat man sitting on it. I couldn't stop blowing my nose, so it was getting pink and raw. All I could think about were the pictures the next day.

Sunday I woke up at 5:45 and couldn't fall back to sleep. Not that I had slept all that great in the first place! I finally got out of bed around 7am. I should mention that John had to take down a set Saturday night into Sunday morning, and leave Sunday morning at 5am to get to the church on time, so he got about 3.5 hours of sleep.

Brooks woke up to feed and then normally sleeps for about 30 minutes. I figured when he woke up I would pack up the room. Well wouldn't you know that today was the day to sleep for 90 minutes. When he woke up I was only half dressed, he was starving and we were 15 minutes behind already.

The service and party were great! Like so amazingly awesome. We left the area around 2pm and headed to my grandfather's to move my piano, dining room chairs and table into the u-haul. I had two cousins that helped us, but it was a B!TCH. There was no ramp on the truck and I didn't think to ask or look ahead of time, that's why I reserved a truck not a van! So the 4 of us dead lifted a piano into the truck.

John and I drove 4 hours home, got home around 10pm, and hen had to load the piano into the house. It wouldn't make the turn into the living room so we had to dismantle the staircase and take out the knoll post! We finally got to sleep around midnight and were awakened by smiles at 7. Fortunately Brooks slept well and only woke up once in the night to nurse!

I'm even more tired just reading this. Hopefully we'll get a nap today, but not until we put the staircase back together. I keep telling myself it's a good thing, because we wanted to replace the spindles anyway. ?

  • Wow! My head is definitely spinning after reading all that! Sounds like your weekend was crazy busy! Hope you get some good rest soon..but if your life is anything like mine, which is seems it is, there's no rest for the weary and it seems like everytime you turn around you have something else to do..hope things slow down soon for ya!
