Good morning!!

I'm usually not this peppy on Mondays, but today starts the last week at my current company! AHH! I had a great weekend, the weather was gorgeous, and I ended up being super productive in cleaning and doing little fix-it projects around the house, and playing with the pup. Then last night we went to see The Thermals play in Ithaca which was a lot of fun.

What did everyone do this weekend??

Re: Good morning!!

  • Had a great weekend as well! Friday was DH's birthday. Saturday we started the sewing desk project (um, sanding is hard. really hard.), and went to another couples' house and grilled out. Sunday we were back to sanding then got cleaned up and went to The Pit here in Raleigh for some amazing barbecue. If you're ever in the area it is not to be missed!

To top it all off, the weather was gorgeous all weekend and both NC State and the Redskins won their games.

  • My weekend was exhausting!  After work on Friday, I drove 3 hours to my parents' house (after my 40 mile commute home). Got there at about 10:30. Went straight to bed for the garage sale in the morning. Saturday, garage sale until about 3, then we packed up everything to donate. Then my brother brought my nephew over for us to babysit.

Sunday morning, woke up to find out my friend had found tickets for me and DH to go to ACL that day, so I hauled butt home, showered, and picked up DH and then went to ACL. It took forever to get there, but I did manage to hear 5 bands in the 4 hour span we were there, including the headliner and the reason we wanted to go: The Eagles. It was awesome!  Soooo glad we went. Then we had a 45 minute walk back to the car, followed by the 45 minute drive home. Up early to take Rufus to daycare and I'm exhausted this morning.

We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

So jealous.  My dad and I used to sit in the basement and listen to their records (yup, records) every once in a while.  We also listend to Chicago and a few other classics.

Our weekend was ok.  Sat we went to a housewarming barbecue for a few hours.  It was fun but Amelia wanted to go and let us know this by screaming almost the entire time we were there.  After being secluded in the basement for over an hour trying to settle her down, we just left.  Fell asleep within 3 blocks.  Oh well.

Sun I was able to get a lot of cleaning done.  I was kind of proud of myself because I filled 2 giant green lawn bags with junk and made room for Amelia's books and toys.  It was a big relief to be rid of so much clutter.

  • Happy last week of work, megs!

I feel like I didn't have a weekend. I worked a wedding Friday night/Saturday. Sat. night we watched "Get Him to the Greek" at my bff's house. Yesterday I caught up on some DVR and watched "500 Days of Summer." My poor body is all sore and broken for sprinting all day Sat.!

  • Have a great last week at this company, megs! :)

My weekend was meh. Friday I covered a shift for someone in the tutoring center from 9-12. I went to lunch with my girlfriends, which was nice. Friday night we just hung around the house.

Saturday we went Halloween costume shopping and since I'm not a size 0 nor a wh0re, I couldn't find anything in the bagged costumes. DH and I went to lunch and brainstormed awesome silly homemade costumes instead. Then I went into work with him so I wouldn't be tempted to watch TV or take a nap and I worked on my thesis. Saturday night I had my first appointment at Massage Envy (DH got me a membership as a gift).

Sunday I woke up with a miserable sore throat. I was up at about 4:00 a.m. DH and I got into a tiff in the morning, spurred on mostly by the fact that I was PMS-ing and feeling crummy that I was sick. I ran errands with my mom for a while, but by the time I got home, my headache and sore throat were raging. I went to bed at 5:00. I woke up at 8:00, had dinner, worked on my thesis some more, and then went back to bed.

Today I am staying home from work and (hopefully) from class because I feel crummy still.

Wow, that was long. Sorry, guess I really needed to whine.

  • It's not morning...but, hello!

Received my phone (the one I purchased on ebay), last Thursday...and on Friday, I FINALLY received my Wedding album!  Love!

  • Good morning everyone! I had a pretty good weekend. On Friday evening, we went to a Halloween happy hour that my neighborhood association organizes every year. It started at 6 and since Alex's bedtime is 7, we weren't there very long. Alex was dressed as a cow, I was Agent Orange (all I could come up with given what we had at the house--if I'd had a cowboy hat I would've definitely been a cowgirl), and DH was an 80s heavy metal guy. There was a DJ and tons of food, but I'm assuming the party didn't really get going until after we left.

On Saturday, DH had to work, so Alex and I went to the farmer's market, lunch at this amazing Middle Eastern buffet, and the library. DH and I attempted an at-home date night by ordering take-out from our favorite restaurant, but he wasn't very talkative, started playing his guitar after dinner, and then was non-responsive when I was trying to have a serious discussion with him. Then he went to sleep, but woke up to go out to hear his friend's band play. He almost got his first night on the couch for that one, but since he didn't get back until midnight I settled for kicking him hard about 5 times in the middle of the night and blaming it on a bad dream.

Sunday DH apologized, then we went to church, a cemetery walk that the local museum organizes (not at all morbid like it sounds), fed Alex his first rice cereal, and went to the pumpkin patch. We also did some tidying up of the house since the cleaning ladies are coming today. The weather was gorgeous all weekend so no real complaints.

I almost went to this show! If I had known you were going to be there, we totally could have met up!

  • Good afternoon (evening almost for some of you)!

    Weekend was good.

Saturday we went to the pumpkin patch in the rain & then out to lunch.  I picked up supplies to make a fall wreatch (which all still sit in the bag, not hanging pretty on my door yet).  Then Iron Man 2 on demand that evening.

Sunday we went to the Home Show.  It was lame this year and pretty much a bust for us (we are looking for a new wood stove) but was still fun.  Then I made a huge pot of chili & some apple coffe cake.

That was pretty much it for us.  Hope you all have a great week!

  • Happy last week of work megs!

We had a good weekend, the weather was gorgeous. Friday we went out to dinner at our favorite local Italian place and I had the best butternut squash ravioli. I love fall! Saturday we had 2 window companies come out for estimates and went to watch my best friend's son play flag football. 5 year olds running around-hilarious. Ayden refused to nap at all, so we put him to bed at 6:45. Then I had to help keep DH awake because he had to work at 12:30am. Sunday we went to church and then Ayden and I went shopping with my mom while DH got to enjoy a quiet day at home. I asked him when I get to enjoy one.

     Have a good week everyone!

Yeah, we got to Castaways once or twice a month. It's not my favorite bar, but it has good music quite often. If you ever head there again, let me know. You probably drove past my house if you came down 81 at all!

I'll definitely let you know! It's like a 2 hr drive from Rochester, so we don't get out there too often, unfortunately.
