I had a few things lying around for months that I have wanted to hang up but I didnt know where. I had even bought a frame for one of the items that had to be put together.
Since I'm home today, it was my goal to finally get this done. So I put the frame together for the one thing, and i'm like crap i need to screw these other things in ( you like my use of terminology here?) Girls- I took it upon myself and used Jay's power drill!!!! Didn't have to call anyone for help, I did it all on my own!!! I'm so proud.
So I finally hung our framed wedding invitation, a wooden decoration we had gotten from St Lucia on our honeymoon and a canvas sign that says welcome with our last name and established in 2010.
Now I'm just waiting on some of the larger professional wedding photos to finish up the decorations. I actually have wooden letters mounted on a plaque that say "Will you be my wife?" that Jay made for me after he proposed. Here is a picture...... Each of those letters I was actually given through our "proposal game" that Jay had me playing before he actually popped the question.
We are going to hang these in our hallway along with some of our wedding photos!
Re: You Ladies would be so proud!
I love that! When we first bought our house last year, I accidently tore the towel rack off the wall (the previous owners hadn't put it up properly), and when it came off it tore a huge chunk of the wall out.
I went out, bought the proper materials for repairing the wall, patched and plastered it all up, repainted that portion of the wall, and hung up a new towel rod. I was SO impressed with myself, and even though you can totally see the patch job that I did if you look close, it makes me smile every time!
Good job!!
And J- that's amazing too!
I did this while drunk one night. Lost my balance when I got up from the toilet, grabbed the towel bar to catch myself, ripped it out of the wall, fell into the shower, and turned on the water on my way in. Just thought I'd share. I made Dan fix that mess. But normally I'm the one playing with the tools.
