QOTD

When it comes to vacations, do you prefer quality or quantity? In other words, do you prefer to go on more vacations that cost less money or save up to go on one bad ass vacation?

Re: QOTD

  • Our goal is to take two vacations a year. We would like to make one of those vacations a big vacation every other year. So, I guess, one in four vacations would be a big vacation and the other three are just there to de-stress.
  • Ohhh that is a hard one.  I love a long vacation, however I also love that quality.  Here is what I think, if it is a last minute getaway I would go for quantity, and if it is a planned ahead of time (a year or more) I would go for quality.

  • I would have to say a qualilty vacation. I like to have something big to look forward too. On the other hand I also enjoy having a weekend getaway every now and then.

  • Hmm, very good question. We also try to go on two longer vacations a year. They both used to be National Park hiking trips, but we're making one a Cancun/AI getaway starting next year. Given the way our work gives us time off (and that I can take time off unpaid without penalty), we tend to go away for two one-week vacations and then do little trips to Michigan, locally, etc.

  • I've never really gone on vacation. We had a weekend getaway once. I think I would go for a big, long vacation that we have to save up for and plan a long time.

Oh man, I need vacation in order to stay sane even if it's just a weekend away somewhere.

You see why I'm insane? I wouldn't know what I would do if I went away on vacation.

  • We prefer to to many short trips each year, and don't usually spend a lot on them since we camp or backpack 95% of the time.  Lee isn't big on beach or water vacations, so saving up for a week in Hawaii or Mexico, or a cruise wouldn't interest him.  We would like to do a big trip to the Canadian Rockies, though.

  • I would love to take three or four mini vacations per year, but because of our jobs we can only take one big one. It sucks because it ends so quick. Having several little vacays would give me something to look forward to (and plan!).

  • I would go for quality over quantity, but for me quality doesn't have to mean an exotic two week vacation. We usually take a few short weekend trips every year as oppossed to a really big vacation. I like to get away every once in a while even for a short time. If I'm going somewhere I love, even if its for a weekend, then to me that is a quality vacation.

  • I like to do a few little short trips while saving up for a bigger longer vacation every other year or so.  We went to the Bahamas this year, so we are saving for another bigger/longer trip in 2012.  We also went to Asheville, NC this year, to my home town twice and a bunch of day trips.
