Hi all,
I am in the starting stages of planning a long weekend getaway for a group of about 14 people for late next spring. We have a friend that is going back overseas and a group of us want to send him off with a fun weekend away. We need some place that is kid and adult friendly and that would be willing to work with a large group of people. We're open for something like a cabin area or a resort/hotel area that has a waterpark inside (in case it ends up being earlier in the season and its still pretty cold out). I had thrown out WI Dells since I'd never been there overnight, but the other girl planning wasn't really hot on the idea. There is the Jellystone resort there though - anyone been? Is it priced reasonible?
Any one have any suggestions? I'd book all at one time so the place wouldn't have to deal with individual reservations. We're open to anywhere in MN or in WI (within about four hours driving time from Minneapolis).
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions -- I'd love to hear them and would look into them to share with the other people planning. We always go to the cabin (which isn't big enough for this group) and its always nice to go someplace people have been before.
Thanks in advance!
Re: MN or WI Resorts?
Chula Vista Resort in the Dells. For every day you stay, everyone in the condo gets a waterpark pass, and there are even underground walk ways to get to it! I rented from a private condo owner (found him instead of renting directly through CV) and got a MUCH better price! He has a condo that fits up to 14 people, 3 BRs (and I think 2-3 bathrooms), a full kitchen, a deck, and a jacuzzi and we absolutely loved it. I stayed in it with 6 other girls 2 winters ago and his prices are still about the same. His condo is also attached to the main building which is nice. Here is the link to his condo, he's really quick to respond and very helpful!

ETA: I missed the WI dells comment about throwing it out. I'd tell her to reconsider.
How about arrowwood in Alexandria?

A Little Bird and a Monkey Butt
I'm going to look into both of the places above -- thank you! I'm not against the Dells and she just said she's heard it was spendy. I just might be able to convince her otherwise though if the price and location is right.
I was just at a wedding in August at Arrowood! I guess I didn't even think of there.
Thank you again!
7 of us went for 3 nights, and we split it 7 ways. We each paid $65 total. That's sooo cheap! Depends on how many ways you'll be splitting the cost.
I don't post here much but Arrowwood in Alex would be an excellent idea. I lived in the Alex area for 9 years (moved two years ago) and there is so much to do. There is a newer bowling alley so that could be a fun thing to do, plus the waterpark and spa at Arrowwood. If you like the night life there are a number of bars to go to. Depending upon how late spring, there is a mini golf/go cart ammusement park and a couple regular golf courses. Then there are the lakes if it is warm enough to rent a boat (which you can do at Arrowwood) to either tour the lakes or go fishing. If you like shopping, there are a ton of cute little gift shops down town. And don't forget the food - a ton of places with a large variety of foods. If you have any questions, let me know!
