Does everyone assume?

So I am EXHAUSTED this morning and not really feeling good.  So, multiple people in the office when they find out are asking me if I am PG.  Really?  Just b/c I just got married and they assume this?  Can't I just be sick and tired?  Is this what I am going to have to deal with forever since we are BNOTB?

Anyone dealing with this?

Re: Does everyone assume?

  • That's ridiculous!!! I am so happy that I'm not dealing with that (yet). Good luck with those stupid people.
  • crap!  DH must be pregnant....he's sick and tired this morning too.....

we wanted to wait a bit...

in all honesty, though - it's amazing what people will think/say.

It's like THEIR excited for you to get pregnant, therefore YOU must be excited for it too.  I mean, don't you want to plan the rest of your life around your coworkers desires?

  • Lol! I have been getting the same thing...if not in words, in looks.

Next time I will tell them - guess DH is pregnant too then :)

  • Yep.  Last week I got my period, and had really bad cramps.  So bad I was feeling sick in the office.  I did not puke, but was close to it.  One colleague asked me over the cubes, if I am fine and I mouthed to her: "Got period".  She has seen me this way on my first day before, but this time, she ran over to me and started hugging me and congratulating. I thought she was being sarcastic, but she really thought I was preggers... I mouthed "Got period" a few times to the mirror that night... does not look like mouthing "I am pregnant" at all.
  • That is seriously the most irritating thing! I have totally given up on telling anyone if I'm not feeling good, because they are all quick to assume I'm pregnant. I don't understand why people want so desperately for newlyweds to be pregnant. Can't we live our lives as married people for a few years before adding to the family? Sheesh!
  • LOL- I wasn't feeling well last week and didn't want to tell too many people because I know I would get that question (or at least they would be thinking it in their head)!

  • I haven't had anybody come out and say it, but there have been some jokes when I've been tired.
  • I have had the same prroblem.  I got my period two weeks ago this saturday and my MIL asked if I was PG because I was bloated bad and had to take off my belt and I was miserable. LOL. GAH.
  • One day at work last summer, I wasn't feeling very well and suddenly had to run to the bathroom to throw up.  When I told my boss that I was going to go home he asked me if I was pregnant!

  • I was on the phone with my mom while cooking.  The cheese I was using had a funny taste.  When I mentioned this to her she told me when she and my dad were newlyweds and the cheese tasted funny she was pregnant.  I think she secretly wants it to happen.
