do you clean? I mean really, really clean? I tidy daily-- wiping down surfaces, organizing mail, spot cleaning, etc. But how often do you wash baseboards, walls, clean under the stove, etc?
I feel like we clean a lot, but I never feel done! It's driving me crazy! Maybe that's just what happens when you buy a house that's over a hundred years old? bah.
Re: How often...
I clean once a week which includes vacuuming, wiping up the kitchen (stove, fridge, sink counters, microwave), whole bathroom, wet swiftering the floors and maybe dusting (if i'm in the mood).
As for moving furniture, cleaning under the stove that kinda thing- ehhhh a couple times a year.....is that bad? I feel like my house is very clean.
I have never cleaned under my stove...... hahaha.
And THANK YOU, you reminded me I need to bring home my swiffer! hahahaa its been at work forever and I keep forgetting to grab it!
ditto the under the stove, fridge! LOL they aren't easy to move!!!
Okay, wheew! I feel much better! haha
My house is just so old and I love the way it looks, but it's not... I don't know how to explain it.... it's not sealed? Like, there's space between everything-- the fridge and the cabinets, the sink and the wall, there's even space between the floor molding and the walls! Everything gets stuck in there!
I swear, I love the character... but our next house is going to be brand new! haha
When I move out, so it's not deducted from my security deposit.
That's really about it.
Bah - I feel like I clean all the time but our house always looks like a tornado ran through it. It's only the 2 of us and my DH honestly isn't here very much, but I'm still a little embarrassed to admit that I usually only clean toilets/bathroom countertops every 2 weeks!! The bathrooms are really my main priority and I TRY to do them every weekend but sometimes I have other things to do. I do the kitchen (inside the microwave, scrub things, clorox wipe the trashcan lid, etc) occasionally and I just did it last weekend actually. I vacuum once a week or every two weeks. I dust whenever I feel like it, which is like once a month or if we're having people over. We have dark furniture so it accumulates very quickly and our house seems particularly dusty so if I wanted all the surfaces to be "clean" all the time, I'd just go crazy.
Surprisingly enough, we've actually cleaned under the stove AND fridge AND couches AND kind-sized bed (and I've only lived here for 1 year). The stove and fridge were because we had a spill or some hose wasn't connected properly or something, so we just went ahead and did under the fridge too. The couches - we've done those about 3 times. Once when we bought a rug, once when we bought night stands, and then last night randomly because DH was in a mood?? Under the bed was because our ceiling was leaking onto our bed so DH had to move the whole mattress off anyway
I clean every day. Bathrooms, kitchens, living room get done daily. Everything else (yes, baseboards included, I have no idea why but I literally do my baseboards all.the.time. because dirty baseboards sick me out) get done every week.
But I'm a clean freak, this is not new information for all of you.
I wish we had a housekeeper
I am officially the worst housekeeper on this board. LOL
