This wknd I'm taking DH to a little pumpkin patch we have here in town. DH always got his pumpkins at the grocery store and I thought it would be a fun date to take him to a pumpkin patch where we could pick our own pumpkin and they have a hay ride and everything. They have a little picnic area too so I was thinking of packing a surprise lunch and bringing it with us to have there. I was planning on making caramel apples as a treat too, but then I thought I could make something fun for lunch too other than pb and j..but I can't think of anything good..have any ideas?
Re: want to help me?
Chicken salad for a picnic = delicious! Also a container of homemade potato salad completes a picnic.
Cucumber sandwiches are easy and really good- basically you peel a cucumber, cut it into thin slices, make a mixture of softened (room temp) cream cheese and Hidden Valley dry ranch dressing packet, spread over rye, wheat, or white bread and put the cucumber slices in the middle. I think traditionally the crust is cut off the bread and the bread is cut on the diagonal... like a little finger food. I love these!
