Mesa Grill
We will be heading to NYC next week and DH wants to go to Mesa Grill. I have read that it isn't that great and only tourists go there. Do you find that to be true? If you do, do you have some other recomendations? Doesn't have to be a celebrity chef, but that probably wouldn't hurt. We are tourists after all. :-)
I think DH just likes that it is Bobby Flay, but if it isn't worth it, I would rather go elsewhere. We can't do seafood (DH is allergic). I know there are many many options in NYC, which is why we are having a hard time deciding. TIA!
Re: Mesa Grill
I've been there a few times and the food is very good. There are definitely tourists, but I'm a native and I've seen other locals there too.
What kind of food are you looking for, and in what area?
They have an awesome peppercorn steak there, and the pork medallions were so good.
For steak our favorites are BLT Prime, The Palm, or Wolfgang's. Definitely make reservations if you can! Oooh and Gramercy Tavern is probably our #1 of all time, it's such an incredible experience.

I love Mesa Grill. It is one of my favorite restaurants. There are tourists there but there are also a ton of locals. Brunch and Dinner are awesome!
If you want steak, try Old Homestead or Peter's Luger's in Brooklyn.
