So, did anyone start changing their last name legally?
How long did it take to get your marriage certificate back?
Mine is holding up the process. I know it's only been 2 weeks, but c'mon PA.

Re: So, did anyone start changing their last name legally?
I got married on the 11th and took my temp marriage license to the SS office on the 13th and changed my name on my SS card. Then from there I went to the bank and changed my name and deposited my checks.
When I got back from our honeymoon the marriage certificate was waiting for us. I started to call credit card companies and went to the DMV. I think I have one more credit card to change and that's because they are being a pain in the butt and won't send me out a new application so I can update my name. Almost done!!
Wait, I can take the "keepsake" one with me to change my name? Are you serioussss?

I opted to take my marriage license and file it myself, that way I got the certified copy I needed to change everything the same day, no waiting.
I got everything filed and changed 3 days after the wedding.
We got our marriage license back the Wednesday after the wedding but I had to wait to get my birth certificate from my parent's house before I could do anything. I'm hoping to get it all changed by Friday.
The lady at the probate court did tell me I could use the paper she had given me that day until I received the certified copy, if needed.
in MD we got or original certificate the day of...then the officiant filed the paperwork with the courts that Monday so everything woudl be in the system by the time we were back from HM
i've changed most things already...just waiting for a few things to be processed :-)
so weird signing this new name ;-)

WHAT? No way!!! I think I'm going to leave work early on Friday and try it with the keepsake one. Fudge! That means I spent $15 on a copy of the marriage license I don't actually need.

Alison - in PA, do you need your birth certificate or just your current ID and a copy of the marriage certificate? I do not have an official certified copy of mine yet.
THIS.
Glad to see you back Dats!
I just gave my current ID and the marriage certificate that was given to me after our wedding ceremony. That was filled out by the priest that married us. I didn't have my official one until after I got back from my honeymoon. I used the official one to get my DL changed.
IUI #1 10/12/11 (Bravelle + HCG + Prometrium & acupuncture) = 10/26 BFP! Beta #1=250, Beta #2= 615. 1st u/s 11/8.
Got my nifty little packet for all my Texas stuff, but don't have marriage certificate back yet. Very antsy, want to get all this stuff checked off my list of to-do's! Just checked the county clerk's office and it says it was returned on the 8th, so hopefully it'll be here soon. Apart from pics/vid, as of right now we actually have nothing else to prove we got married. lol It's weird. I thought we'd get something to hold onto while the license was being processed.
I have done everything but the MVA (Maryland DMV) because their hours suck and work has been sort of insane.
I knew I could use my 'keepsake' license, but I actually mailed in the form for the certified copies the day after the wedding (I also mailed in the signed marriage license for the officiant) and they were waiting for me when we got home from the HM.
