I was flipping stations this morning and noticed that WLHT has a new morning show, a sydincated show called Kidd Nation. I thought it didn't fit in at all with their format, so I checked their site.
They are now called Channel 95.7 Best Mix. I can't quite figure out what their new format is. Like every other media organization, their website is horrible and over loaded with ads. You can't get any real info from it. The morning show seems to be going after a young adults (like maybe 20's), but then they have some older guy doing afternoons/early evening. So I don't quite get that.
I listen to the morning show for about 5 miutes and holy annoying. They have six people on the show, so it seemed like they were talking over each other. They do annoying voices. I don't know maybe it is something you have to listen to for a little bit to get used to it.
Re: 95.7 has a new format
Interesting. I always have that channel on my preset, just because there is usually a song I know on that channel, if I just feel like singing, and everythin else is commercials.
As far as morning shows, when I was working or in school. It was always B93 for Neal and Reese. I never listened to anything else. But now, more than likely it's Free Beer and Hot wings.
So do you "like turtles"?
I figured the writing was on the wall. About two weeks John Gonzalez from the Press left his gig with Gerry Barnaby's morning show on WLHT. Then they fired Barnaby/"Barnaby & Friends" last Thursday, and the day after that my mom told me that their afternoon host, Kim somebody, announced she was moving to 105.7.
Do you think they are trying to fill the hole left by 96.1 changing to talk sports radio?
I heard Gonzalez on another station (different company) and I thought that was strange. I actually don't care for Kim C. voice, it drives me crazy.
Yeah, I'm not sure what group they are going for. I will have to listen to it on the way home from work to see what kind of music they are playing.
I kind of feel bad for Barnaby. I worked with him quite a bit at my lat job. While he was high strung, he was really nice.
Yeah...he's kooky, but he's gotten the shaft twice now, from WOOD-TV and now from radio.
Of course, that's why it's not smart to go into either of those careers...they have a habit of just giving people the shaft without warning.
These days the only thing I listen to is Free Beer & Hotwings. It reminds me of hanging out with my crew of guy friends, as they pick on each other.
Otherwise, I just listen to audio books during my never ending commute. I can't handle the radio stations around here for more than a song or two.
