Introduction

I've been a lurker, occasional poster on the September 2010 board for a while and figured I would finally introduce myself with the jump to the nest...

I got married on September 25th and am still trying to wrap my head around it. We're trying to get our house settled, write our thank you notes, and train our brand new puppy, Frederick. There's been a lot to do but it's such a relief to go home and not think about wedding stuff!

I'm excited to get to know all of you!

Re: Introduction

  • Welcome! Glad you are coming out of lurkerdome. I also got married on the 25th and am really trying to finish our thank you cards...which I should be doing right now along with putting our gifts away. Good luck with the puppy!
  • Welcome!  Better to join now than not at all.  Congrats on the 9/25 wedding.  I was married 09/19 and still settling into things and getting used to being a newlywed.  Can't wait to work on my TY cards, they should be arriving any day now.

  • Welcome! I was a 9/25er too and I'm still trying to get settled from the wedding. I figure I'll just throw most of it out when I start packing everything up for the move. I'm hoping to be finished with all thank you cards this week.

  • Welcome!

I was so excited to see that you're running a 10k how long have you been training for? Are you an avid runner?

I'm getting the nerve up to run a 1/2 marathon next year. I love running 5k's, but am so intimidated for the 1/2.

  • Congrats on the marriage (same date as me), puppy, and coming out of lurkdom.

I am naughty naughty NAUGHTY I have not started on my thank yous yet. I have over 160 to get out. I have to start doing 10 a day minimum starting today.

  • I was also married on 9.25. Congrats and nice to 'meet' you.

I am also SLOWLY getting to work one my TY cards. I did 10 earlier today, probably at least 10 more later. talk about writers cramp. SHeesh. and I hate my handwriting too, so that makes me not want to do them. DH's writing is worse though, so I just plug away at it I guess!

  • Hello!

I was married on 9/24, and posted occasionally on the board on The Knot!  Married life has been wonderful so far.  We are currently getting ready to buy a house, and we are also trying to concieve (TTC).  I still have a few thank you cards left to do!

  • Thanks for the welcome : )

@kaz - I started running from about two years ago. I could barely run a mile because I never really knew how to run properly. I read a lot and was able to pace myself to do 3miles pretty consistently. I have only been training for the 10K for a few weeks (started right after the wedding). I'm trying to add on a quarter to a half mile every week so I can get up to the 6.2miles for the 10K. I'm up to 4.25 for my big runs but it's getting close to race time. My goal is just to finish!

  • That's awesome! I'm in the same boat as you. Never been a great runner, but I really want to get better. I'm enjoying the 5k's but I really want to push myself harder. It sounds like you've got a pretty good plan going for yourself. Maybe I should follow with the quarter to half mile addition instead of just seeing how far I can go (which usually tends to be when the show i'm watching on the treadmill ends).
