We hopped in the car around 1. After a quick stop in Buffalo for wings (we couldn't resist), we continued and got to Columbus around 10pm. On the hotel staff's recommendation, we headed to a pub in the Short North area called the Surly Girl Saloon - it's a hip little spot decorated with spiderweb laced chandeliers, old western movie posters and racy cowgirl pics.
Saturday morning, we donned our scarlet and grey and headed to the OSU campus to meet sreihing. She was sweet enough to present me with my very own Buckeye necklace, cheek tattoo, and beer koozies.

Here we are with our game faces
Then we checked out the skull session - the marching band's rehearsal - and then headed to the stadium. (They really are The Best Damn Band In The Land - fantastic!)
The game was totally fun! The marching band, the cheerleaders, the army guys doing pushups after every touchdown... I loved it all. It was a blowout game (Ohio 38 - Indiana 10) so we left the stadium after the 3rd quarter to rejoin sreihing's tailgate party. It was an impressive setup with widescreen TV, bbq, crock pot, and all sorts of drinks and snacky goods. Her pumpkin pillows were yummy.
Mr. sreihing was there too, and he was super nice.

Attendance was 105,291.

This is what we do in OHIO. With sreihing's BFF (I hope she doesn't mind my posting this)
Then that night she took us out for dinner at a restaurant owned by Ted Turner, and then we went to check out a dueling pianos bar.

I am told that this is a hot spot for wedding photos, it's the base of a beautiful large arch

Ring shot! sreihing on the left, me on the right
The next morning we had lunch with some other friends, went to the North Market for some ice cream from a great place called Jeni's, and headed home.
Columbus is a great city and I hope to return! Thanks sreihing for taking us around - we had a blast! Come to Toronto sometime. I'll be waiting. ![]()

Re: Ohio recap (long, PIP heavy)

F-U-N! I have been going to college games since I can remember, but I could not imagine going to a game with 105,000+, good thing you had a guide. It looks as though you had fun.
Side note: If you want to see a place with real cowboys, come to Wyoming, I would be happy to show you around!
Looks like a blast! Sarah sounds like the perfect tour guide and seems like your wkd was perfectly planned... very jealous!
