Shark steam clean mop?- editted it sorry for the typo!

Hello everyone, I a new to this board and I have a question.  I have hardwood floors with a high lustre finish.  Someone told me to get the Sharp steam clean mop to clean the floors, then others told me it took the shine off the floor.  Anyone have any good or bad reviews on it?  Thanks in advance for any help!

  • I am curious about this mop as well.  I am also not sure if our HW floors are sealed or not...how do you tell?

I would love to have a steam mop.  Any help offered to marianegs would be helpful to me as well!

  • I believe to be sealed they have some kind of poly urethane (sp?) over them.  I am not sure how you can tell if it does or not!  Sorry, wasn't much help!!  Also Brittany, I dont know where you live or if there is a Kohls by you, but they are on sale for 119.00 then you can use a coupon.
  • My personal review gives the Shark a No.

Had it... hated it. There are two really good comparative reviews of all available steam mops on amazon (link below). They're really long (too long to effectively post here), but it's worth it to read through.

    http://www.amazon.com/Eureka-313A-Enviro-Hard-Surface-Steamer/dp/B001LYFBHG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1286910473&sr=8-1

You'll want to read the reviews by A. Chandler and K. Stankovich

  • I have it, and love it. It's a good quick way to steam clean your floors, and at a very reasonable price! Dries quickly, and you can throw the mop cloth in the wash.  Also, no need for a bucket and this takes up no more room tahn a broom or mop in your closet! :)

Well they are shiny lol does that mean it is covered by poly urethane (sp?)?  I would really hate to buy one and it hurt my floors.  Thanks for the tip on Kohl's, now...how can I get a coupon!?

  • Here is a code for 15% off if you spend 100.00 at Khols.  ADOFF15.  You can probably google other coupons too.
  • I have really shiny hw floors.  I love the shark pocket steam mop.  It doesn't take the shine off.  However, expect the shine to dull as the floor age.  It just happens with use.  We have 1800 sqft of hw.  This is the most efficient way to keep our clean and looking nice.  Also, Sam's Club has the best price I have seen.  The one at Sam's Club also comes with the larger mop head which is nice as it covers more area.
  • Thanks for the info!
