We live about an hour north of Austin (Temple) and are going to spend
the weekend in Austin, just to get away for a few days. Anyone know of
fun stuff going on (baby-friendly, of course), or have any suggestions
of anything to do/check out? TIA!!!

Re: This weekend in Austin?
The Texas Book Festival is at the Capitol this weekend, and they have some children's events that might be fun. There is also also always music at the Central Market North (on 38th & N. Lamar) on Friday and Saturday evenings in the cafe, and a lot of parents with kids go to that. The food in the cafe is decent and the music is always good.
In terms of things to do that are not necessarily baby-related, there is the hike and bike trail (around Town Lake) that is really pretty for a walk, and if you like art, The Blanton Museum and the Ransom Center at UT both have really good exhibits on right now.
I can't think of anything else, but if you get into town and pick up an Austin Chronicle, they have a kids section with events. Have a nice weekend!
