Recommend your Dishwasher
I wouldn't even know what kind we have if you asked me but we need to get a new one. Can anyone recommend a good one please and/or a good place to buy them? Thanks ladies

Re: Recommend your Dishwasher
You don't want mine. You can hardly have a normal conversation in the other room while it's running, it's so damn loud. It's some kind of maytag, and I only know that because they were all recalled and we had to have someone come fix it. I don't pay very close attention...I just know I hate it.
ETA: We also have to pre-wash and then post-wash most things. I'm not even sure why we use it.

When we bought our house it didn't have a fridge, the microwave & dishwasher were broken, and the range was just old & UGLY... and we weren't sure if it worked either. We had an FHA loan and sometimes there are funny requirements, one of ours was that we had to have a range that worked. They didn't care about any other appliance, just the range.
We obviously had to get some new appliances but were so freaked about how much $$ we would be spending. Well Best Buy has this deal where you can get the dishwasher, overhead microwave, range, & fridge for about $2500 I believe. Cheap cheap cheap! Of course it's a package deal and it's bottom of the line Frigidaire, but honestly this stuff has held up to our abuse over the past year. Ours isn't stainless steel - it's stainless look (which yes I know is kinda cheesy) but everything in the set also came in white. We seriously chose stainless look because it was cheaper then the white package.
We don't expect these appliances to stand the test of time, but so far so good and we're really just hoping they last long enough to leave them here when we move in (hopefully) 4-5 years.
We also have a Frigidaire washer & dryer, also kind of "bottom of the line" but still front loading & HE, and they have stood up really well - and I do a lot of laundry it seems. So I would say I am definitely happy with our Frigidaire appliances & would buy them again without a doubt.
I survived the RoLex wedding and all I got was this lousy husband.

We have a cheapie whirlpool. It makes the dishes clean usually, so I can't hate it. But I certainly don't love it. Its too small and too loud and we have to run it on the pots and pans cyclce every time just to get 'regular' dishes clean.
However, I can help by saying that they were major sales last year and are likely to be again this year on Black Friday. We got ours at Best Buy on BF last year. So maybe if you find a good one in advance, you can wait until then to buy one. HTH.
