New to Cary area....how have you met other couples in a new area?
Would love to meet some other nesties and DHs in the area. DH and I are 29 and 30, no kids yet. Seems like our neighborhood is all about 10 yrs older than us. Our companies are both really small, so not meeting too many people through work. We've joined a service organization, but that seems like mostly younger, professional singles. Have yet to join a church. I feel like its kinda hard to meet couples in a new area. Any advice?! TIA!
Re: New to Cary area....how have you met other couples in a new area?
We felt the same way when we moved down to Raleigh. I think it just takes time to meet the right people who you can really click with. My advice is always to get yourself out there, which it seems like you guys are doing. So I guess just keep plugging away at it and possibly see if there are more organizations or events you could get involved in.
We got really involved in our HOA. We actually didn't think that there were any young couples in our neighborhood. I volunteered to start a Supper Club in the neighborhood. One of the perks of being the coordinator is that I got to pick who was in our group, so of course I picked all of the younger couples. 2 years later we are still really good friends with them and we have met quite a few more of our close friends through them!
DH and I live in Cary, but most of our friends don't. Actually when we moved there was this pamphlet that the Cary Welcome Wagon gave us that was a Cary couples group or something like that. I can see if I can find it if you want more info about it
We've found a lot of our friends through various meetup groups. One of them was started by a nestie (JennaNAaron). Here's the link:

Also, when our schedules calm down (October is a nightmare), DH and I would be up for a mini GTG
DH has met people from a meetup he's in (laser tag or something) but he enjoys it an it's good for him to go out and goof.
We've also been talking about joining the Young-ish couple group, but have been swamped these past couple of weeks.
I will say, the church we go to as a class for 'Nearly-Newly Weds' ranging from engaged couples to couples married for 5 years. The class started with us and about 4 other couples and has grown to now have about mmm probably 8-10 couples? maybe more? It's pretty fun when we all get together for cookouts and what not
We too would be up for a GTG!
) That or ladies GTG. .movies, dinner, shopping. . doesnt matter. . school's trying to kill me so I'm down for anything fun
)
P.s. Hope you enjoy Cary!
