So I went on a ladies church retreat this weekend. I've been going to this church for almost 3 years now. I really like but there are some people there that I give a side eye to. I met this lady (she is probably a year or 2 older than me). She is the typical fundie Christian woman. I've seen her at church but never talked to her until this weekend. This woman is seriously the person who gives Christians a bad name.
Case in point she tries to preach to me that everything that I have done since M was born is against what God teaches. I didn't have a natural birth, I work outside of the home
, and I don't cook for my husband dinner every night. I guess I am truely going to hell. I really wanted to throat punch this woman. Now keep in mind we were talking away from the other group of woman so no else heard this besides me. I had to get up and just walk away because I was fuming so bad.
I will say this no one else in my church is like this (that I know of). From what I have seen through out my 3 years there no one really associates with her. I guess I can see why.
Re: Can I tell you about fundie lady I met?
Oh dear. What were her reasons you should cook your husband dinner every night, not work and only have a natural birth?
I haven't heard the word fundie in like 10 years. lol.
She said in the Bible (didn't give me a chapter or verse though) that it teaches that woman are supposed to "suffer" during childbirth since that was our curse. I was going to ask her about the women out there that O during childbirth since they weren't really "suffering" but decided not to open that can of worms.
Also she said that it was "the woman's role" to make her husband comfortable and you just can't do that while you are at work
. She even asked me when the cleaning gets done. I told her that both DH and I clean the house together. Since we both work and we both take on the responsiblities for the housework.
Oh I forgot to add that she went on this long tirade about why she homeschools her kids like she was a martyr or something. I don't have anything against homeschooling but she is doing it for religious reasons (not exposing her kids to the "evils of the world").
Nope.
I hadn't heard the word either.
