I know this is usually a hot topic for some people but I recently learned that a girl who is younger than me (23) is marrying a 53 year old man this coming weekend. This just seems to be a really huge age gap to me. I know people who have about a 15 year gap between them but that doesn't seem as huge to me as a 30 year gap.
Am I the only one who sees really young women with much older men and the first thing that jumps in my mind is gold digger?
Re: Age question...
The first thing that jumps in my mind is that the guy is a predator.
If she were 43 and he were 73, it wouldn't be as bad. Or if she were 25 and he were 40.
Imagine bringing him home to meet your parents...I guess they'd have a lot in common? Or at least be able to talk about how things were "back in the day"
He's almost 10 years older than my parents!

LOL!
I agree....
I'm thinking what would they have in common? With such a huge age difference there really can't be too much in common. And also this is older than my dad. I could not imagine.
I just can't imagine being physically attractive to a 50 year old man. I mean how does that relationship even start???
I have a friend who is 25 years ( I think) younger than her husband. Even that weirds me out just a bit. he is older than her parents.
My H's step-sister is married to a man older than her parents and H's dad. She met him though my FIL ( FIL and the old man worked together until old man retired) and to me it is just weird.
I don't get it at all what 2 people with a huge age gap would obviously see in each other other than the women seeing money and the man seeing some young hot women.
Gross. He'd have to be LOOOOOAAAADDDDEEEDDD for me to touch his old balls, and even then, still gross.
ETA: Unless it was George Strait....
My thoughts exactly. It's just weird.
A few thoughts:
1. Old guy better be loaded. Multi-millionaire, rolling in the dough. And the prenup better benefit me greatly.
2. My dad is 53.
3. Girl has daddy issues, man is a bit of a predator.
Yep, being older than her parents is definitely creepy to me. I wouldn't necessarily saw she is a gold digger though. I had a friend who dated a man her parents' age, though the age gap was slightly less than the situation here. She liked him mainly for his maturity and stability in life, not for what he could buy her.
This cracked me up. :P
My parents are 46 and 47 - so that guy would be older than my parents if I were in that situation. That's just wrong. I can't imagine being attracted to someone so much older than me...that's just weird. To each her own, I guess...
