Re: Facebook?
I totally agree with Laura. I've had my FB since like 2004 or 2005 back when only college students could sign up. I'm kind of over the whole thing, but I stay so I can share photos with all of my family (grandparents included - ugh) who are now on there. I think a lot about deleting mine and may soon now that the whole wedding and HM photo sharing craze is over.
H also doesn't have one and refuses to get one, so I'm friends with all of his friends and family as well so that they can see our photos and stuff.
I have facebook, and have for a couple years now, I use it to stay in touch with friends who don't live close to me, and with my family (expect it's become nothing but a problem with my family) and H's fam is all on my friends, since he also refuses to get a FB.
I'm mainly addicted to the games on there! LOL
I don't have facebook and don't ever plan to start an account. I don't have a MySpace page or Twitter acct either! I like my privacy. If my friends/family want to know what I'm doing, they can call/text/email me.
Hubby started a page right after the wedding, and he too has a lot of my friends/family as his friends so that they leave me alone.
This, this, this. I always tell people I've only been keeping it for pictures. And with the wedding, it was nice. But it also means I'm on it a lot more lately, because of all the wedding pictures, and I'm reminded how much I don't like FB.
like a few others, my husband doesnt have it either, refuses to get it, and calls it face_____ (too awful to put in here).
he calls me a total loser for checking facebook and even more of a loser for checking TK.
if it werent for me, he wouldnt even have email.
Blog
I'm with a few others and joined my freshman year of college so back in 2004 when it was only for college students. I liked it then more than now but I do have most of my extended family on it and I know I wouldn't talk to them as much as I do if it weren't for FB. Jeremy has an account too and uses it to keep in touch with his buddies from his hometown since he's moved.
There's good and bad to it just like everything else but I know enough people who don't have an account either and do just fine.
Ha ha. Well, H doesn't call me a loser for it, but he really doesn't get FB, and thinks it's just ridiculous that I have "friends" on TK/TN.
This is me too.
I like chatting w/ extended family who I wouldn't typically talk to if it weren't for facebook. And it's nice to pictures of family as well. I don't really talk to much with college friends or high school friends on there anymore, but it is nice when someone finds me that I haven't heard from since grade school!
Don refused to get a FB account, but so many family members on his side and mine were asking so I set up an account for him...I check it occasionally and fill him in, but he has yet to check it himself.
