**Cindy**

So I was all excited to find out that I was stranded in Arizona for an extra weekend during my business trip (well, I wasn't at all excited at first but I vowed to make the best of it), and decided to rent a car and go see Flagstaff and Sedona.  Was totally thinking of you and our (nearly) twin honeymoons and how you guys went to Sedona for a few days before Las Vegas (or was it the other way around).

Doofus me though, went to Flagstaff first and spent too much time lollying around at the mall up there (my GPS crapped out on me on the way up from Phoenix so I decided to get a new one), and by the time I headed toward Sedona it was already dark!  So instead of seeing what I'm sure is the most gorgeous landscape, I ended up winding my way through pitch black canyons that had me feeling like I was in the middle of the Blair Witch Project.

Anyway, just had to share... will definitely have to go back and really "see" Sedona!  Where did you stay?  Were you in one of those lodges nestled in the cliffs (if that's what they were)?

Re: **Cindy**

  • AWWWW! Mike and I both LOVED Sedona!!! We both regret not staying there the whole time because for as much as I love Vegas I've been there 3 times before. And Mike was disapponted - he didn't like Vegas much at all because of the crowds and traffic and noise.  Sedona was so peaceful.

If you ever do get back there, we stayed about 15 miles outside of downtown Sedona in neighboring Oak Creek Canyon. Bell Rock was a landmark - and OMG it's so beautiful there!!! We stayed at a B&B called The Penrose and it was amazing.  www.thepenrose.com  We stayed in the Mariposa room (they have pics on the website).  The food was good and the people were so freindly, staff and guests.

  • Aww.. cool, I knew I missed out!  But now I have a place to go back to!  Like you said, Las Vegas was fun, but we enjoyed our day trips to the Grand Canyon and hiking in the Valley of Fire.

I will definitely check out the Penrose, sounds divine!
