I decided yesterday to delete a lot of my FB friends. I feel kind of bad about it and it's not that I have anything against any of the ones I deleted. I just feel like if I haven't seen you in years, or if I wouldn't say "hi" to you IRL then we shouldn't be FB friends. I think that too many people know too much of my business because of FB.
I guess my UO is I think FB friends should (mostly) be IRL friends. Not just acquaintances or someone you met one time at a party in college.
I think this was brought up in the UO last week? About the man who was shot by Mexican pirates. Well now they found a Mexican state police commander that was helping in this investigation decapitated. Why is this woman and the husband's family putting people in harm's way to try to recover his body?
I feel bad for her I really do but I would feel awful putting people's lives in jeopardy.
I feel ya on that one - I'm going to go through and delete a bunch of people I knew through Greek Life in college and are random acquaintances. I'm pretty sure those people wouldn't notice anyway. :P
I don't really have an UO today...maybe I'll think of one later.
I feel the same way. I randomly go through and delete people that I don't talk to. I have quite a few people on my list that will remain until I graduate. I would delete them now, but I help plan events on campus and we use facebook as a marketing tool. It's not that I don't like them. I just don't want them knowing every detail of my life.
this is what I do too. Mostly though, because I am nosy and sometimes want to know what is going on in other people's lives without them knowing what is going on in mine!
