Book Club

So, how'd it go?  I felt terrible for not coming, even though it was literally about .5 miles from my house.  Craziness ensued at my house last night.

My apologies AustinAggie, I'm sure you were a fabulous host and everything went well.

I know the next one is the Dragon Tattoo at MC's, but was a book and location decided for central?

Re: Book Club

  • We missed you! We had a good discussion about the book that lead to much off topic chat. You know, the usual Wink

I don't remember the title of the next book, it was one that Xtina is currently reading. We haven't picked a central location for the one following MC's.

    Thanks Austin Aggie for hosting.

  • Thanks Austin Aggie for having us!

The January book is Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro.  It was actually Time Magazine's best novel of 2005.  It's the book the new Keira Knighltey movie was based on.

  • Sorry I didn't make it - I started off really excited about this book, but I've just been so busy.

Can I ask what the general feeling of the book was? I was super excited to read it ... and I'm still reading it ... and I hate it. So naturally, I wanted to talk about it! LOL

I wanted to know this too.

I'm especially curious about what people thought about the last section of the book. I really liked the book up until that point. Then it read like fan fiction or something.

The movie was really good, make me want to read the book and the book that comes after it.
