Duluth hotels rec's?

My Mom and Dad are going up to Duluth this weekend, since I have never been up there I have no idea what hotel to stay at. They want a place in downtown Duluth for Saturday night. What places would you recommend?

  • I've stayed at The Suites and the Comfort Suites in Canal Park...and both are good but The Suites is better.

We've stayed at the Holiday Inn which I believe is closer to downtown?  We love it.  It has a nice restaurant for breakfast in the lower level and a Sports Bar also in the building.  Just don't stay next to the pool, and get a lake view.

  • We love (as do my parents) the Inn on the lake.  You can't get much closer to the lake, has an indoor pool, year-round rooftop hot tub and nightly smores, plus great customer service and it's within walking distance to everything in Canal Park.

  • If they want to be downtown, and not in Canal Park, try the Sheraton or Radisson.

ditto this.  We stayed at the Sheraton the on our wedding night, and it was amazing!!  It is a bit pricey but totally worth it.  My parents always stay at the Radisson, and they seem to like it there.

  • thanks ladies! I will pass the hotels onto my parents :)

  • The South Pier Inn!  It's right next to the lift bridge in Canal Park and it's a fabulous place to stay.  Hubby and I stay there whenever we go to Duluth - it's affordable, in a wonderful location and we've always received really great service.
  • We are going on the 22nd. Almost everywhere we looked was booked! We did get one but my husband booked it and I can't remeber which one it was...

  • Yeah I guess the next two weekends are all booked up...they are thinking of going Halloween weekend, but might just go somewhere else?
