STeals on startribune.com

Has anyone ever bought a STeal? I just bought a 'GC' for a $100 night stay at this resort in Crosslake, MN.

A certain number of them need to be bought in order for the deal to go through. I assume this is similar to groupon?

Here's the link if you want to look into it yourself. I *think* if someone buys it from this link I get $10 for buying something in the future for referring someone.

ETA: I should clarify. It's $100 for a 2-night stay, a $25 gift certificate to a restaurant plus you get a fireplace suite to stay in. Valid all 7days and expires 1/14/2011

Re: STeals on startribune.com

  • Just thought I'd pipe in and say that's a really good deal for that resort.  DH and I were in a wedding this summer at that resort and for a hotel, it's fabulous.  Wedding venue leaves something to be desired, but it's a great place for a weekend vacation, and $100 for two nights, plus a fireplace plus $25 at a restaurant is really good.  Two nights under the block rate still ran us $400+.  Good eye! Do you know what restaurant it's for?

(p.s. this is formerly KatieVT, coming out of lurking status under a new name...)

  • Nevermind, I see it's at Manhattan's.  We didn't eat there, but I've heard the food is good.  The hotel had a breakfast, but it was pretty minimal, so Manhattan's would be a good option instead!  Have fun!
  • Hi KatieVT! Big Smile Welcome back!

Manhattan's Restaurant it says. Did you eat there?

  • The hubs did have apps their while the girls were getting ready, and he said they were good.  It's a got a decent bar, too, since Whitefish doesn't have a bar or restaurant and the other option is Zorbaz, which DH hates because they use z's instead of s's in everything...And done right, $25 will probably pay for more than half of your meal and drinks!
  • I'm glad you said something, I'm really excited now!

  • Update 10/15/10: I got an email that it went through, so obviously enough were purchased. My Dad called (he was going to buy one too) and they're booked every weekend in December and January due to some Hockey function, but they have weekdays and Christmas weekend open.

I'm thinking a weekday getaway will be perfect! Once we go, I'll let you know how it was Big Smile

    Did anyone else purchase one?

  • That is a great deal, however, the link you used goes to a different "deal".  I would be very interested, just need to find out where to go.

    thanks for your help!

These things change the deal every day.  So the one they're talking about above is no longer available.
