We recently moved into our new rental house, which was furnished w/ all new appliance. I am doing my best to keep them looking that way, but am struggling with the stove. I've never used/had a gas stove before and am at a loss for out to get the burnt grease spots (the little blackish brown spots that surround the flame and are on the burner grates).
I've tried the usual recs from this board, including vinegar, w/ and w/o baking soda, lots and lots of elbow grease, I've tried kitchen cleaners, magic erasers. Other than these few spots my stove looks fantastic. Any recs I haven't tried?

Re: Cleaning a gas stove
I use good 'ol Comet and a dobie pad. For the grates and all that stuff, I soak them in the sink with Comet for about 15-20, rinse and then throw them in the dishwasher. Works pretty good for me, sometimes I'll get out a butter knife and wrap it in a wet paper towel or rag, then scrap whatever I can't get off.
