nyc restaurant help, please.
has anyone been to stanton social? i've heard good things, but just wanted other opinions.
also, what's your take on red eye grill?
Re: nyc restaurant help, please.
I have been to Stanton Social! The food is excellent (communal style eating where you order a bunch of small tapas-like dishes for the table to share), but it is always crowded and definitely a "scene". People are there to be noticed so music tends to be loud and the pretention factor is high.
Never been to Red Eye Grill.
What's the occassion, maybe I can recommend something being a recent expat?
We're going to New York for a belated anniversary get-away. The only reason we decided on Stanton Social was because I googled 'french onion soup dumplings' and it came up. I have one friend that's been there and loves it. I heard it's a 'scene' but it does seem like fun for a group. Right now, there's 5 of us, but it could be 10.
My parents gave us a gift card for the restaurant group that owns Red Eye Grill. I haven't heard of the other restaurants in the group before so I obviously don't know anything about them. We're looking to on Friday night before we see In The Heights.
