6 mths...where does time go?

Hey Ladies,
I havent been on here in awhile. How are things going for everyone? Congrats to the ladies that are expecting babies! Hopefully I will be able to join that list soon..... fingers crossed.

I was wondering if any of you are planning on celebrating your 6 month anniversary with your hubby? I was thinking of getting him a small gift, but not sure what to get, any ideas? I am in the process of finally getting our wedding video and am hoping to have it by Monday (our anniversary) so I guess that could be "our" gift, but I also wanted to get hubby something just for him.

:)

Re: 6 mths...where does time go?

  • We're thawing our top tier to have on our 6 mo anniversary. I don't think we'll do anything else though.

  • I was thinking of getting a small cake from the bakery that made our wedding cake (it was amazing!) - but that's it - no gifts or anything....
  • We probably won't do anything.  DH will likely have to work in the morning and the Packers play that night.

  • DH had a work trip planned to Disney the Friday before so I"m tagging along and we're making a weekend out of it --- really it's just a coincidence that it's our 6 month though!
  • We didn't do gifts, but we did go out to brunch at a hotel in our area that does one FABULOUS brunch display! We also had our top tier and had my parents and IL's over for cake and coffee in the afternoon.

  • We're getting close to ours, and I'm pretty sure we aren't going to do gifts or anything...more than likely we'll go out to dinner...I've been having a mean taste for a good steakhouse dinner, so that will likely be it!

  • Thanks for the replies! I like the idea of getting a cake for us to share, while we watch our wedding video (hopefully) for the first time.
  • We'll actually be having a 7 month anniversary date, because November 16 was our first date 3 years ago. :) I'm picking and paying for the restaurant and he's picking and paying for the movie. :)

  • we are going on a double date on sunday .

I didnt even realize that that was our 6 months...the date didnt occur to me !

But , it will be lots of fun!

Im not going to give him a gift. I doubt that he even thought to do something for it. Now, our year anniv will be different!

I dont want to get him something and freak him out.... its very possible that he will get anxious.... thinking he messed up or something ha.

I'll def wear my wedding jewelry though. I love finding excuses to put that back on.

  • I doubt we'll do anything. DH just lost half his income so we're cutting back big time, which means eating out a lot less than we used to Sad And we just celebrated our dating anniversary a few weeks ago with a really nice dinner.

Not to mention, with both the Phils and the Yanks looking good in the playoffs (our two favorite teams), if there's a game that night we will be glued to the TV.

  • I doubt we will do anything.  I may go buy the stuff to make him a cheesecake, but thats it.  He has to work this weekend, so we really can't do much.  I think Saturday afternoon/evening we may run to the mall since JcPenny has dockers and shirts on sale for him.

  • Ours would have been Sunday, we didn't do anything, guess it didn't occur to me to celebrate.

We'll certainly do something for our yearly anniversaries, but never considered 6 months.

BTW, even after six months, are you still getting a lot of, "How's married life treatin' ya?" type comments?  I never really know how to answer that, ha!

  • We're going to Disney like Rachel too, except we're going the week after.  DH's aunt will be in town the weekend of our 6 monthiversary.
