So the pulled pork was delicious! DH loved it and I can't believe it took me so long to try using the crock pot to cook in.I can't wait to try another meal in there.
I followed your and leigha's recipe mamie, put the pork in the crock pot with water, salt and pepper. Cooked it on low for 6 hours, then I poured out the liquid, shredded it and added the BBQ sauce and heated it on warm until DH came home. YUM!

Yeah! I make this quite a bit when we have people over because it is so simple and stress-free.
I made KA chicken on Sun in our crock pot and that was a huge hit as well.
Yay! So glad you ladies like the recipes.
Based off Hawki's suggestion, now I'm wondering what it would taste like to cook chicken in there with apple juice instead of water and add bbq sauce at the end and shred it. I might try that this weekend. Why the heck not!

I've done pork in apple cider and it was delicious... I'm betting the chicken in apple juice would be good.

Is there a recipe that was posted here that I missed? If so, could someone hook me up?
I've been itching to use our crockpot again now that its been dug out of the boxes...and I've been totally jonesing for some pulled pork. This recipe sounds great!

Another version- just get a pork roast (we usually use shoulder) and then add a can of root beer and whatever spices you like. Cook on low for 6 or 7 hours, then drain the juice. At this point the meat will basically just fall apart- use a fork to shred it. Add your favorite BBQ sauce and cook for 30 more minutes. So simple.
vh-it is still swollen and bruised, but I've been wrapping it and even attempted a short walk today with A. We'll see what happens when I take the wrap off. Thanks for asking : )
