I've been keeping contact with a local professional in my field hoping maybe one day it would lead to a job or a job reference. LP and I have met up on a few occasions professionally to chat and network. Tuesday, LP and I had lunch. It started great! We were chatting about mutual acquaintances, school, work, etc.
Out of NOWHERE, LP says, "You look like you need a massage. I can give you a good one. I have lotions and oils. I can set up candles and get a nice bottle of wine. It will really help you relax."

Um, I'm really not that stressed right now... but, thanks?
LP: You know, I'm leaving this weekend for San Diego for three weeks. Think you can fly out for a week?
Me: Um... is this a business trip?
LP: Yea, sure
Me: You know, I'm in school. This close to exams, I really can't miss class, especially a week's worth.
LP: Aw, c'mon... I can talk to the chancellor.
Me: ::insert nervous laughter:: That's nice, but it's in my best interest to be in class. I learn better that way.
I know that men are sleezeballs and this kind of situation isn't all that uncommon in the profession, but COME ON!!!! Maybe I'm just shocked because he popped my "being hit on by a professional who has or will have political power over you one day" cherry.
I immediately called bossman and we had a good laugh over it.
THEN! LP called me that night and left a voicemail saying he set up an appt for me with a professional to get a massage. But I have to call him back to get the "coupon" to get the massage. Needless to say, I did not answer and I will not be having lunch with LP again.
Re: Here's my gossip (Semi-long)
Wowza. He sounds, um, persistent. I hate being hit on by skeezy men but obviously Jen you are just so darn hawt he could not contain himself.
Really though, it's probably a good thing you let your boss know about him in case he continues behaving like this. I might consider blocking Captain Inappropriate's number.
Side note: This is not who you are referring me to - right?! 'Cause I don't want my mazda fixed THAT bad. J/J
::coughcoughitoldyousocoughcough::
At least you got a free lunch out of it.
LOL - no, I am referring you to bossman, not LP. His number is blocked!
Shoe - Yes, you told me so. As I acknowledged right after I left the lunch!
