Project Runway--Spoilers

I was actually yelling at my tv.  I didn't necessarily disagree with the top 4, but I thought Michael C. winning for a dress that you can buy off the rack at any department store was bogus, It was a pretty dress, but not "inspired" or "wow" and not original at all.  April's dress did look like a pregnant witch, but do the judges hate pregnancy?  They've never mentioned before that they have a problem with the fact that every look she does is black with cutouts on the top and see through on the bottom.   In fact, she's won and been in the top three (including just last week) with the same look.  I even felt a little bad for Gretchen.  Her look got trashed and I didn't see it as much different than any of her looks, several of which won,

Also, thanks PR for that 5 minute ad for Garnier hair products, oh so cleverly disguised as a styling consultation.

  • Also, Lifetime has their scorecards up.  Mondo's score last night was higher than Michael's and April's was WAY higher than Gretchen's.

  • I agree with everything you said (I bet you've never heard that before).  I like Michael C. but I was very nervous for him last night, I thougt his dress was nice, but for 2 days and $500 I thought for sure he was going home, it was just too simple.

I think that especially for the last challenge before fashion week, they judge for the entire season rather than that outfit only. That doesn't explain why Michael got called first, but I think that's why they took Gretchen over April.

I've never been a fan of April, but last night's dress looked like a witch costume. Maybe it was the purple an the fact that it's so close to Halloween. I think she's insanely talented for age 21, though.

I loved Michael's dress. I don't think it's something you could find in a department store, with that fit and the back. But as usual, Mondo was my favorite by far.

I agree Gretchen should have gone overall over April. I'm just pissed that it was the first time they mentioned that she does the same look every week.  They put her in the top last week for Workout Witch.

There's just nothing new about a long, draped, black dress with that neckline.  He slutted it up a bit with the back (circa Hillary Swank's Million Dollar Baby Oscar dress) and slit (circa anything Angelina wears) but it was still a pretty, derivative look.  His hat dress win was a draped Grecianesque look that was nothing new either.

  • I don't think his was the best. I think I'm defensive of him because he obviously knows how to sew, but everyone continues to talk shiit about him. I think the hat dress had to br a case of looking better in person than on camera. Had to be.

But his dress was far and away better than Gretchen or April. Sometimes I think beautiful is enough.

  • I wanted to burn Gretchen's weird pants(?) she was wearing at the runway show.  Bleeeeech.  I think what each designer wears to the runway can be very telling.

Gretchen's whole look made me want to vomit.

I want to put Mondo in my pocket and keep him.

*edited to add a W to whole.  Wow Jen....drink some more coffee.

  • I thought Gretchen's pants were a shinier version of Michael's pumpkin pants last week.  I'm glad Gretchen went through.  Her oblivious narcissism has become amusing to me.  At this point though, it's Mondo and whoever else to me.

  • I despise everything about Gretchen. Right down to her greasy hair. I agree, michaels dress wasnt special, but it fit well in the back. And he's still nice to those people even when they treat him like he's not good enough to design for Walmart.
