Candy pole

My boss fancies himself the Great Pumpkin.  There is at least one bowl of Halloween candy in every room in our office.  He just came through and restocked everything.  It's been funny to watch what people seem to have been digging for in the baskets (100 Grand, Kit Kat, and Skittles) vs. what gets left in abundance (Mike & Ikes and Hot Tamales).

So, in the spirit of the season:
What's your favorite candy?
Do you have trick-or-treaters in your neighborhood?  If so, what do you give out?
What was your favorite candy to get as a kid?

Re: Candy pole

  • What's your favorite candy?   Probably Reeses (preferrably in egg form since it is the superior of all the shapes, but I'll take any of 'em).  This includes Reeses Sticks and Reeses Pieces and even the Fast Break.

Do you have trick-or-treaters in your neighborhood?  If so, what do you give out?    I don't know since we're in a new neighborhood now.  I won't get to find out since Mr. Spiderman will be picking me up from the airport around the time ToTers would be out and about.  I'm sad that we're going to be gone for our first Halloween in the new neighborhood.

What was your favorite candy to get as a kid?    It rotated, but for a while I looooooooved Mars bars.  I never see those anymore.  And a lady on our street made popcorn balls with M&Ms in them that were awesome.  But really, I was a kid -- I loved all candy.

  • In your office, I would dig for Reese's minis, then grape or cherry Jolly Ranchers, then SweetTarts, then Skittles, and then 3 Muskateers.

    I don't know if we'll have T-or-Ters.

I loved SweetTarts as a kid. I really loved grape Tangy Taffy.  Anyone remember that stuff (not the far inferior Lafffy Taffy stuf)?

  • Like Cali, anything Resee's. My boss also has a gigantic candy dish and he buys Milky Way Midnights just for me. I eat SweetTarts on the regular.

  • FACT:  Milky Ways are the first candy I stopped liking as a kid.  I used to trade them for Snickers.

  • Reese's are the best candy ever. Fact.

  • Oh, and when I was a kid I LOVED Bottle Caps and Whatchamacallits.

  • I like reeses, plain hershey bars, snickers, mounds and twix.  These are also what I buy to hand out to the kids.

when I was kid I loved smarties!  I still do actually, but I never buy them.

  • Fallin, you have near identical candy tastes to my H.

My favorite candy is currently Twix.

We have trick or treaters in every neighborhood we lived in. Some years we get very into candy handing out. I usually give Snickers, skittles, Reeses, Kitkats and Starburst.

Snickers was my favorite candy as a kid.

  • What's your favorite candy?  Reese's.  I prefer the Easter Reese's eggs due to the peanut butter:chocolate ratio, but will eat any kind.  Reese's peanut butter cups were the food I craved the most when pregnant -- I ate at least one package every night after dinner.

Do you have trick-or-treaters in your neighborhood?  If so, what do you give out?  We have a fair number of kids in the neighborhood.  Lots of middle school kids who don't put much effort into their costumes, unfortunately.  Halloween  was more fun when these kids were smaller.  I buy a different assortment every year, but it always contains Reese's peanut butter cups, Snickers, and Hershey bars, and I never give out anything non-chocolate.

What was your favorite candy to get as a kid?  Reese's and Snickers.

  • Speaking of - did everyone have the one or two neighbors that gave out full candy bars? We had them mapped out in our town. They were the best.

  • I still love Whatchamacallits.  I get one every now and then.

People who gave out full size candy bars were always the best.

  • my figure reflects the fact that i have a few different favorites. i usually seek out things like butterfinger, heath, almond joy/mounds, kit kat, m&ms, 3 musketeers

yes, we have trick or treaters. we will get a few big bags of the good chocolate bar mixes

non fun size bars, lol. also was a fan of getting nerds for some reason.

  • I'm generally an equal opportunity candy eater.  I don't think I've ever met a candy I didn't like.  There's a soft spot in my heart for M&Ms.  I don't know why, but I can never resist M&Ms.  I also love all things Reese's related.

We've never had ToTers at our place, even though I always buy a ton of candy.  Then Jason and I are forced to eat all of that candy ourselves.  Poor us.

Do you have trick-or-treaters in your neighborhood?  If so, what do you give out? Only a few. I think we got 4-5 different groups last year. I don't remember what we gave out (probably a mix of chocolate fun-sized stuff).

What was your favorite candy to get as a kid? Anything chocolate. We lived in a huge neighborhood growing up and I would come back home with pounds of candy. We usually never hit up every house, too, because my parents would cut us off eventually.

  • What's your favorite candy?  Reece's. Hands down. Snickers is a close second

Do you have trick-or-treaters in your neighborhood?  If so, what do you give out?  We have an incredible amount of trick-or-treaters and have even had to make emergency trips to the grocery store to re-stock. I bought the m&m's/Hershey/Nestle mix at Costco, and will hand those out....minus the reeces, of course.

What was your favorite candy to get as a kid? I really don't remember but I'll go ahead and guess chocolate.
