Let me preface this by saying I have never gotten a flu shot before in my life and I will not ever get one again. I don't trust them and I rarely get sick - in fact, the last time I had the flu I believe I was 6. I get 1 or 2 headcolds a year but otherwise, I'm strong like bull.
So today at the OBYGYN's office they offer me the flu shot and I get one because, well, it's not just all about me anymore. I took one for the team and did it for the baby's sake. As they're about to give me the shot, I'm thinking "I don't have a good feeling about this."
Sure enough, DH and I go home and take an afternoon nap. I wake up around 5:00 feeling like I just emerged from a coma - totally out of it...like woozy. Legs are dead weight. And of course I had dance class in like an hour. Which I did not make it to and felt horribly about since it's a big rehearsal for us for this wknd's performance. And normally the policy is that if you miss the last rehearsal before a show you have to sit out that show. Fortunately they made an exception for me and I can still dance on Sunday but I'm home feeling sorry for myself on the couch. Feeling somehwat better now, though - drank a ton of water...
Hopefully DH will make me dinner or go get us something indulgent. Either way, my ass is not leaving this couch tonight.
Re: Flu shots -
I hope you feel better soon! I am not sure if I am going to get one. Unless my OB recommends it I will not. I have never had one and still am not convince that I need to get one yet even with the LO on the way. The pros do not out weigh the cons yet.
Thankfully feeling better this morning. I drank a ton of water last night and ate almost an entire individual pizza all by myself (DH got us dinner....) and am feeling better this morning. My arm is killing me where I got the shot, though. Feel like someone punched me in the arm! DH thoughtfully offered to punch me in the other arm to even it out. :-)
And we're off to a wedding in another state today - and here's the fun part. We have to drive an hour and a half to the ceremony and then there's a 4 hour gap between ceremony and reception. Ceremony in is this state but reception is in another state....so I guess we'll see how long travel time is between the 2 and maybe check into our hotel between the two events...it's gonna be a looonnnggg day, though. I guess everyone is complaining about the gap!
Glad you are feeling better!
And what a horrible gap, that sounds like poor planning there. Hopefully you guys can find something to do!!
I'm the same way. I rarely get sick, and if I do its just a head cold. I never get the flu shot. Before I got married I could have gotten them free at my Dad's work every year but I never went.
I'm glad your feeling better this morning, but I'm sorry you had to miss your rehearsal yesterday and there's such a huge gap between the wedding and reception today. Thats crazy! Very poor planning in my opinion, I've never heard of doing the ceremony and reception in two different states!
