I'm all about increasing awareness for your cause of choice and I hope I don't offend anybody with this crazy rant.
Can we please stop with the ridiculous status update games? Seriously, the bra thing last year was fine. It did seem to raise awareness, in the media, if nowhere else and it was a one-time thing.
The "I like it" thing was not to promote breast cancer awareness. I know this because I originally saw those status updates months and months ago and now suddenly it's for breast cancer awareness? The only thing that's going to promote is thoughts in the minds of friends about where I like it, and I don't need my family speculating about that.
Now, I get an e-mail about a new game. "This time, post your shoe size followed by inches and a sad face." Are you freaking kidding me?
What gets me is that it's my cousins and close friends reposting this crap! I haven't seen any of my fellow nesties posting any of these, but again I don't mean to offend anybody. It's just irritating enough that I had to vent to someone.
Re: Speaking of Facebook
Preach it. My feed was overloaded with that stuff. I'd rather people post links to new stories, donation pages, and info websites.

This is also my problem with it. It's because men are excluded and the suggestiveness of the updates that it doesn't seem like it's really to do anything other than get attention.
I agree. I've seen the statuses, but have not gotten any of the messages telling me what it's about and to do it, so that makes me happy.
I thought the bra thing was cute. After that it has been really annoying, I mean I almost deleted FB all together because of the dumb status updates. I think people who start those new update things are trying to achieve the same thing as the bra thing did... Media attention. IT'S NOT WORKING! oy.
Ya know, I bet it's a bunch of teenage girls starting all that too.
Me too. Only a few of my friends posted them but they definitely annoy me.
This.
