This week, a rattlesnake was found coiled on one of our neighbor's driveway, and today this is what Matt and Seba saw while riding bikes to the mailbox. Fuccking Texas.

Guess who?
Re: Creatures on my street
And dawg apparently he "lives" under a rock at our neighbor's house. That's what our neighbor said. "Don't tell my wife, she'll want to kill it."
In the tarantula's defense, they are not aggressive at all. Just freaky. ::cue Brady Bunch Hawaiian vacation music::
I kinda hate you right now. :Shudder:
I hate you so hard right now. I almost threw my laptop across the floor.
And just when I was daydreaming of coming to visit you and hang out in your bulldog paradise
haha, your neighbor is a nice man who must walk around rocks in fear.
My sister got one as a pet as a teenager but chickened out on the whole having to put food in it's cage and he soon went to live elsewhere.
I have only heard from E on how awesome Austin is, but we have yet to go. My other travels to Texas have been to Houston, San Antonio, Del Rio, Laredo, Uvalde, Dallas and Fort Worth. In all of those places I never saw a rattle snake, scorpion, or tarantula, so i think they just must want to be in Austin, and now Austin scares me, even though I hear the art scene is really cool.
I don't really understand what people think is so awesome about Austin, but really I think it's just my west coast bias. I'm not a country girl. It's poorly developed, eye sores everywhere, the environment is very harsh. We have a ton of great friends here and the economy is strong. Great music scene I'm sure (I'm not into live music), but I think the restaurants are overrated.
But really....I'm just a snotty west coaster. I'm sure it's great here.
