Possibly Being Transferred to Canada Help!

Hi ladies!

My DH and I might be transferred to London Ontario and I was wondering if anyone has any helpful info about the area.  More specifically I am wondering  what a good area to live in might be and also any good websites to look at for housing.  TIA!  :)

  • mls.ca is a good website if you are buying.  If renting, kijiji is good, but you will want to make sure you see the house, etc before giving any money, there have been some scams.

  • I live in London so can give you some pointers for areas to avoid etc.  What company does your DH work for?  Do you know where in the city they're located?  When is the move?

London is a pretty great city - low crime, decently affordable (a hell of a lot cheaper than Toronto!), and a fair amount to do.  A short drive to Toronto if you need more excitement/shows etc.

I would love any info you could give me!  My job might be the one that takes us up north.  I work in retail and our company could possibly be expanding into the area later this year.  Not sure if its public knowledge yet so I wont say the company.  (I'm sure I am just being over cautious here lol)  So as for where in the area I haven't the slightest clue yet.  I would assume it would be in a great shopping area if I had to guess.

I grew up in Michigan so I am itching to get back north from Dallas so I am very hopeful this will pan out for us.  :)  Thank you for your response! I look forward to any advice you may have.
