Know of any adult/kid crafting places?

My 8 year old niece is really getting into crafting.  She told my sister she wants to be a banana peel for Halloween.  Not the banana, just the peel and she wants to make it.  I told my sister how lucky she was to have a kid with a great imagination.  My sister told me to be quiet because she's the one who has to figure out how to help her make a peel costume.  Stick out tongue  Last year she told my sister that she wanted to be "taking a shower" for Halloween.  The kid cracks me up.

My sister is so not a crafty person.  So for Christmas and even an early Christmas present I've been trying to think of crafting things that my niece and I can go to once a month until Spring.

I checked the school dristrict's community ed classes and most of them are strictly adult or strictly child.  Same thing with Joann's and Michaels.  There is one pottery place by her house that I'll use for one of the months.

Any other suggestions for me?  I'd even like to find a place to take her to a cooking class too.
