Nifty title art work

I recall seeing images with title artwork in a lot of signatures last year.  For those of you who did that last year can you share your creative genius?

As a side note, how many of you already have a title/working title for your book?  Do you start your process with a title or is your title something that comes later?

Re: Nifty title art work

  • I've got my working title and cover in my siggy. I just found a pic online I liked then messed with it in picnik.com to make it fancy.  Title usually comes later for me.

  • I have been working on this last night and today. My original working title isn't fitting with my image of the book now that I have done my more detailed outline. It was originally going to be darker but the characters are just not having that...they are turning it into a story of hope and new beginnings. So I am revamping the title and going to design my "cover" tonight.

  • Oooh!  I has so much fun making that last year!  I can't wait to make one for this year too.

My NaNo this year is inspired by a song, so for now the working title is just the same as the song.  Maybe this is weird, but I have a couple of writing projects in my head that involve translating a complete album to a novel, but so far I've had a lot of trouble focusing myself enough to put it all together.  So I decided to make this NaNo a sort of trial run by doing it with just one song.  I'm hoping for 50 - 75K words.  Eeek!
