AW can I boast a little?
Sooo I'm a writer...sports writer specifically, I know I've mentioned that before.
And I've worked for two papers in the last three years. The second one (my current one) I've only been at since we moved in May.
Well my editor is pretty cool. And I worked on this story for the last two weeks and it ran today....and he called me on Thursday to tell me it was "beautiful" and I "hit it out of the park" and it was a really great piece and I absolutely need it in my portfolio.
My old editor never once complimented anything I wrote. Ever.
So I'm pretty proud of myself right now so I wanted to brag. If you want to check it out there's a link to it in my facebook....

It's always nice to hear that you're doing something well. A little encouragement never hurts anybody.
Congrats! I haven't seen it yet, but I'm sure it's wonderful! I'm glad your editor took the time to let you know what a great piece it was. It's nice to be recognized for your hard work. Great job!

Being recognized for your full effort can be hard to come by. My current principal does a really great job of recognizing our efforts in blanket staetments much of the year, and writes amazing individual reviews twice a year (I'm very lucky).
It is a great article. You should feel very proud!
