If a recipe calls for braising greens, can I use fresh spinach instead?
Thank you!
Re: Food Q: Braising Greens
I *think* you can, but I'm not sure.
Are braising greens different than braised greens? B/c I think of braising as a cooking method, not a type of veggie. Anytime I see greens, I think of spinach, so I'm sure it's fine to sub. But, since I also have no idea what I'm talking about, take that with a grain of (sea) salt.
ETA Oh, wait, I found out what they are. Chard, kale, mustard greens, and endive. All of those cook longer than spinach, but you can sub as long as you adjust cooking time.
