*Girls w/ iPhone*

Okay, I still have my wonderful iPhone 3G that I'm about to throw out the window!  I cannot for the life of me get the new software loaded which means my phone is becoming obsolete...I just got it last August!

This is making me considering switching to the Droid, even though I love my iPhone!

Is anyone else getting pissed at their iPhone?

Re: *Girls w/ iPhone*

  • Do you mean the 4.0 os? It loaded fine on my 3G. I'm not sure what to suggest, but the apple store is usually very helpful
  • I have a Droid, and I like mine.  My daughter has an iPhone, and she was having software update problems as well, but decided to upgrade and get the new iPhone 4.  Before she upgraded, we both could do the same exact things with our phones, so I know they're very comparable.

Ditto this!  I'd go to the Apple store, or call them - they should be able to figure out what's going on.

  • I have not tried yet, but I agree with pp try the apple store or calling them to figure out the problem.  I actually looked into the droid, but according to the stuff I found online the one offered by ATT is not that great.

  • I stayed up late last night messing with it.  I had already tried to update it like four times (each time taking 6+ hours.)  I googled it and found a lot of people are having the same issues.

I decided to completely reset the phone through iTunes and that seemed to work.

  • I'm glad you were able to fix it! I gave up my iPhone 3GS for the droid incredible and I HATE it. Alex is miserable too. Neither of us find the phone user friendly or intuitive. Thank goodness the verizon iPhone has finally been confirmed. I'll pay whatever they tell me to in order to switch back!

  • I have no problems here but I have a 3GS.  DH had the 3G and I used it every now and then...not sure how he used it.   It was sooooooo slowwwwwwwwww.  He has the new one now.  From what I remember, he had some issues upgrading his as well.  Have you tried restoring it?
  • i have the 3GS and haven't tried to upgrade the software. everyone i know has had issues, and my iPhone works perfectly. why screw it up?
  • Yeah restoring mine helped a ton when I first installed the update.  Just make sure you back it up first, but I think it does that automatically.

  • My updates went through fine luckily.  I hope this works out for you!
