I posted all over FB and Twitter about it, but I haven't gotten the chance to get on here until today. ![]()
So H surprised the heck out of me on Thursday night. Apparently, he flew in that morning, spent the day catching up with his family, and spent time with my mom. The original game plan between him and my mom was to meet up for dinner in OKC - but then my sister got us tickets for the OKC Thunder preseason game, so my mom called and told me to meet her at the arena instead.
Got to the arena, my mom pulled up beside me, I turned my back to her to get JJ out of my car, turned around, and - bam. There Joe was, in uniform, standing right behind me. I almost dropped JJ, I was so shocked [that would've been bad]. I ugly-cried big time, so I'm glad no one had cameras or video recorders on them. I cried a lot that night because I wasn't really prepared to see him. He did good. ![]()
It's been amazing, having him home. JJ's adjusted to him really well and hasn't been scared of him...he's now going to Joe more than he wants to come to me. We've been catching up [in a lot of ways...i'm sure you get my drift], seeing family and spending time with just the three of us. I'm enjoying every second of it.
OK - time for me to log off. Just wanted to say hi and thank you SO much for your support while he's been gone. Love you girls - see ya Monday!
Re: Yup. He's back. :)
Aww, YAY!!
I'm so happy for you that he's back and everything is going so well!
Yay!!! How exciting!!!!
I was putting myself in your shoes as reading the post and when you said he was standing right behind you, before I read that you almost dropped JJ, I thought "I might've dropped him!" lol.
Glad that JJ is adjusting well! Enjoy your family time!

This! I definitely got teary! That is so awesome and amazing!
Thanks ladies.
It was a really, REALLY nice weekend. Having him home has been so great...and even though he has to report to Colorado in less than three weeks, I don't care right now. This is the most time I've spent with him since he left, and I'm milking it.
I had to come back to work today - and he has recruiter duty, so he's tied up all week, too - but we've got plans for this weekend, and I'll take some more time off to spend with him and move him to CO once the time comes. I still kinda can't believe he's actually home.
Hope you gals had a lovely weekend!
I'm super late on this, but Yay!!!!!!!!!!!! So happy you have him back!!!!
