Good Morning Monday Randoms

The start to another week...

Nick and I ended up babysitting our friend's 2 year old from 10 am - 11 pm on Saturday while they attended the Michigan/Iowa game for mom's birthday.  Their babysitter canceled saying she was "sick" last minute.  What a handful!  I ended up having her by myself until about 3:00 because Nick had plans to golf with friends.  No biggie though.  She's super adorable, and was actually really good for us.  We made cupcakes, went outside to draw with sidewalk chalk, colored with crayons, and watched football!  Haha.

I went shopping yesterday and scored some awesome deals.  I got a Pyrex set for $12 reg. $23 at Meijer, and I bought a super cute 2011 paisley desk calendar for $1.00 at Target in their $1.00 section.  I can't wait to put it on my desk next year!

  • This board really died.

  • Well that's awesome. I did the babysitting thing this weekend the kids were monsters. Ugh

  • Good morning!  We went shopping at the outlet mall in Howell on Saturday.  My husband decided that he wanted a new wardrobe (his word), so that was our mission.  We didn't buy a full wardrobe, but he got quite a bit.  That process was exhausting though.  He's not the best shopper in the world.

My workload is ramping up again this week, so I may not be online much.  Crying

  • Sounds like you had a lot of fun babysitting.  :)  2 yr olds are handfuls indeed (well, my niece is!)

And yes, this board has died.  :(

  • I sadly have to agree, we have died. It was so nice to see a few high posting days. However both the knot and bump local boards are dead too. ;(

Awesome score @ Meijer's and I think my DH could use a new wardrobe, well I know he does because every once in a while he puts a shirt on and then ask me if it looks too big on him.

I'm taking a recovery day from my hardworking weekend in my living room. I'll post Pics in a separate post to see what you all think.

I know.  Everyone talks about how great GR is but our Knot/Nest/Bump boards are kinda boring lately.

  • Good Morning!

We had a great weekend - our friend's were in from VA - we had a surprise bday party for them, we tailgated and saw some other old friends, State won, the race was great yesterday and the weather was perfect all weekend.

  • Waives Hi!!!  I wish I could nest at work but it's just not in the cards. We can't get to any internet sites outside of our plan download sites. I can't even check the news or the weather.... But, I'm home for lunch today and wanted to say hi!

We had a somewhat busy weekend. Friday night we went furniture shopping and again found absolutely nothing. Saturday, I had a shopping day with my Mom and DH watched football....and then we did the same on Sunday. I went shopping with MIL and DH watched the Lions loose.

On the cat front, we bombed the house the weekend so hopefully all of the *@#$#@% fleas are dead. Kitty is doing alright but still really scratchy.

  • I'm supposed to come into work early - becuse my boss is spliting his days between firms.  He wants me here when he's here - so 5:30-6am or so.  i came in at 9 today - I waved to him in the parking lot as he was leaving for his new job.

Ohh how I wish his new firm would just hire me.

What are you looking for and where. I may have an insider's guide from my 8years in furniture.
  • This is not in regards to anything in particular, but 2010 has overall been a really crappy year.  I mean, good things have happened (see siggy) but the bad things suck so bad, I'm looking forward to putting this year behind me.

  • I am working the 11-8 shift next week, covering for a girl out on maternity leave, and I am looking forward to sleeping in.  I just have to figure out how to get T to sleep in too and we'll be good to go.

    I'd have to agree.

I"m really glad to be done with this job - slightly stressed about looking for a new one.  I will be SOO GLAD to be out of this place though, it's been a big stress for me.

I have to start working 6-3.  Not fun!!

  • Yeah the boards have died down a lot. Some of the people who used to post here are no longer on here? It's supposed to be 37 tonight - brrr!

  • I hate to say it, but Biggby's brewed coffee sucks.  I've had it before, and thought maybe it was just a bad brew, so I tried a different one yesterday and that was crappy, too.  Yuck.

  • I'm having a hard time staying focused today.

I basically have 3 projects, and then i'm done.

I really hope I get the job I'm interviewing for.  There's virtually no overtime at it. My boss said I can finish these projects affter hours/weekends for some extra cash, if I get that job.

*fingers crossed* is that at the firm I work for or did that one not turn out?

  • Remember my SIL who shocked me six months ago with a text message saying she was divorcing her husband whom she had only married seven months before that?

Well, since then she's been dating a lot of guys which I personally Hmm

I heard from her today (via text message, of course) and she said she's never been happier, she's feeling super confident, and she has proven to herself that she can live on her own, not rely on anyone, and make a good life for herself.  And what prompted this, you ask?  A guy!  Not just any guy, but Mr.ManOfHerDreams, apparently.  She's literally already planning their future together (next summer, they will work in Belize together, for instance).  She's known him less than a month.  Indifferent

I just find it pretty ironic that she realized through a hard crush on a guy who she plans to live happily ever after with that she can make a good life for herself on her own.  Huh?

I give that a bit of a snicker and a bit of a sigh.  It's crazy to me how siblings can be so different (I'm assuming your H isn't so flighty).  My bro and I are a lot alike I think, but Andy is so very different from his brothers and sister.

It's really amazing that my H and his sister were raised by the same parents.  Besides the fact that they're both nice people and they both have issues with their parents, they could not be more different.

Your firm never called -- i'm assuming because I'm not licensed.

It's at the corporate office of a very large, well known company of casinos.

I've had several phone interviews, and and wednesday morning is my onsite interview.  3 hours with 6 people.

Nevermind, just saw your follow up.  Good luck!!!

No - I think I missed the one at Cosmo.  I applied last week, either thursday or Friday, and it's not posted today.  I'm assuming they were already interviewing by the time i applied.

I did apply for the position one level lower -- we'll see.

Bummer they didn't call - but GL w/your next round of interviews!

  • I don't feel comfortable posting on here while I'm at school (which is my work).  We had a really strong Knottie board on Facebook and it seemed to die down a little every spring.  This year it just completely fell apart.  I think it is going around.

2010 was actually a vast upswing for us compared to then end of 2009 when DH had a mental breakdown.  That was great fun.  2011 should be superb though because DH will finally graduate.  Hopefully we can then move on with our life instead of sitting in this same rut we've been in since we got married.
