My love/hate relationship with Payless shoes...

I know Payless isn't exactly fashion forward, but then, neither am I.  I love their dirt cheap shoes.   These (and very similar variations of them) have been my "work shoes" for the past few years:

One of the benefits of having a Chase Freedom card is that I get 5% cashback (sometimes more) if I order through the Payless website.  The Payless website offers free shipping/pick up at stores, so I figured this was a great deal.  Over a lunch break last week I went to payless to get the style# of my shoes (which were in stock), and ordered them on the website, figuring I'd be able to pick them up in a few days.

Several days went by before I got my e-mail confirmation.  The confirmation said the shoes would be shipped to the store and would arrive in "14-17 business days."

Whhaaaa???? First of all, normal shipping wouldn't take that long.  Second of all, the shoes are already in stock.  lol, I know I shouldn't complain about free shipping... but by the time this is all over, it will have taken me three weeks to get Payless shoes.  lol, What a pisser!

Re: My love/hate relationship with Payless shoes...

  • I used to have those exact shoes! They do tend to have lots of cute flats in stock. My faves were a pair that were gray herringbone. My only problem is that they get dirty/stinky/fall apart really easily. Then I am just sad that the shoes I love are taken away from me at such an early age. Crying

  • It's true.. they fall apart quickly.  But they're only $18... so you get what you pay for.  I probably go through about six pairs a year.
